Tom Ford Paradiso Cream & Powder Eye Color ($62.00 for 0.31 oz.) includes a sparkling, powder eyeshadow and a cream eyeshadow. I’m a huge fan of Tom Ford’s Cream Color for Eyes formula, as it is typically very pigmented, easy to work with, and long-wearing, but the sparkling Eye Color I’m often less enthusiastic over. The two products worked well together, but I would have preferred a more contrasting powder eyeshadow to pair with the cream eyeshadow to make it a more versatile duo. The cream eyeshadow was excellent–pigmented, long-wearing, blendable–while the powder eyeshadow was decent but could have been more pigmented and had less fallout over time.

Paradiso (Eye Color)

Paradiso (Eye Color) is a medium-dark, coppery brown with warm undertones and a sparkling finish. It had semi-sheer coverage when applied dry, and it was opaque when applied damp. The consistency wasn’t chunky, but I could tell that it was a sparkly finish, though it was still fairly smooth. It applied best with fingertips, flat brushes, and I did prefer to use with a dampened brush for best adhesion and opacity. On its own, the eyeshadow lasted for eight hours with some fallout.

Paradiso (Cream)

Paradiso (Cream) is a medium, rose gold with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It leaned pinker than the average “rose gold” eyeshadow. I suspected it was similar to Pink Haze, but it is a lot lighter and pinker (less copper). The consistency was smooth, creamy without being heavy, and it dried down fast enough that it did not crease while setting but I had enough time to blend and diffuse the edges. It applied with rich, opaque coverage and lasted for ten hours on me.

The Cream Color for Eyes formula is supposed to be “ultra-pigmented” and “metallic” with a “creamy formula” that doesn’t “crease or smudge.” The majority of the shades I’ve tried in the range live up to those things–good pigmentation but can be applied sheerly (use less and/or apply with a fluffy brush) or kept opaque (a little goes a long way) with eight to twelve hours of wear (no primer). They’re blendable and dry down fast enough not to crease too easily while you’re working on them but not so quickly that they don’t budge. I did find that a couple of the new shades were more emollient than past shades and did have a longer dry down time and were harder to keep out of creases (in this review, that would be Siren Blue).
