Tom Ford Beauty Emerald Isles Cream & Powder Eye Color ($62.00 for 0.31 oz.) consists of a sparkling, gold powder eyeshadow and a deep, forest green cream eyeshadow. This has to be one of the better coordinating duos I’ve seen from Tom Ford–there’s plenty of contrast between the two shades but they can be layered and blended into each other for a seamless gradient as their undertones are similar. Both products worked well for me with the cream eyeshadow being the real stunner between the two.

Emerald Isles (Eye Color)

Emerald Isles (Eye Color) is a light-medium, yellow gold with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It had opaque pigmentation applied dry and wet with wet application just applying a smoother, more even layer of product with less work but the end result was very similar. The texture was smooth to the touch and felt almost wet. It wore well for eight hours on me with slight fallout over time on its own.

Emerald Isles (Cream Color)

Emerald Isles (Cream Color) is a deep, smoky green with warm, olive undertones and a pearly sheen. The consistency was smooth, creamy without being too slippery, and easy to blend out on the lid. It had rich color payoff that could be applied evenly in a single layer to be worn alone or buffed out as a base underneath other powder eyeshadows. It dried down fast enough to avoid getting into my fine lines and creases but didn’t feel like I had to work at warp speed. The eyeshadow showed no signs of fading or creasing after 10 hours of wear.

The Cream Color for Eyes formula is supposed to be “ultra-pigmented” and “metallic” with a “creamy formula” that doesn’t “crease or smudge.” The majority of the shades I’ve tried in the range live up to those things–good pigmentation but can be applied sheerly (use less and/or apply with a fluffy brush) or kept opaque (a little goes a long way) with eight to twelve hours of wear (no primer). They’re blendable and dry down fast enough not to crease too easily while you’re working on them but not so quickly that they don’t budge. I did find that a couple of the new shades were more emollient than past shades and did have a longer dry down time and were harder to keep out of creases (in this review, that would be Siren Blue).
