Tom Ford Blush Nude Lip Color Review, Photos, Swatches

Tom Ford Blush Nude Lip Color ($48.00 for 0.10 oz.) is an opaque, soft pink beige with a creamy consistency and a barely-there sheen. It has warm, subtly yellow undertones. MAC Playing Koi is pinker. Estee Lauder Wild Blossom is more beige. Chanel Ming is less beige, pinker. MAC Myth is lighter, paler–Blush Nude is more wearable. MAC Innocence, Beware! is lighter, pinker, less warm. MAC Woo Me is a bit darker and glossier. MAC Naked Bliss is a smidgen darker and more beige. Maybelline Born With It is very close, slightly sheerer.

There are a lot of similar shades on the market–I find this to be true with a lot of Tom Ford’s lipsticks, which makes it harder to justify such an extravagant price tag. It doesn’t take away from the quality of the product itself, of course. The formula is good: creamy, opaque, comfortable to wear, and lasts a good while (Blush Nude wore for five hours).  It’s somewhat moisturizing, but it’s not the most hydrating lipstick on the market (though it wears longer than most more moisturizing formulas).  There is a lightly sweetened vanilla scent but no taste. The lipstick is housed in a brown and gold, square-shaped tube with the logo carved into the slant of the bullet.

I own one of this brand…in cherry lush…just am not thrill like everyone else….and if I wore this color on my asian skin tone…my lip would blend into my skin…it looks fabulous on you christine…..how do you apply your lipstick…whether it is a lipstick or a lipstick pencil like Nars…the application is always perfection…

Hi Christine………thanks for this review! I have been debating for a few days whether or not to splurge on this.  It is hard to justify! Can you possibly tell me if this lipstick could in any way be the lipstick version of Mac’s “Glamour for all” gloss?  If it was……….I would buy it in a heartbeat!  I trust your opinion and your comparisons are so spot on and helpful!!  🙂   Thanks!   Sonja

I wear this all the time and it’s not so pale that you look ghoulish!  One of my favourites for sure.  Lasts longer and applies far more smoothly than any MAC lipstick I own.

This also seems a bit darker than Lancome Pale Lip, which I love. I will be checking out the Maybelline Born With It, though. I actually like the finish a bit more, as well as the price tag.

Tthis is a very pretty nude.  I generally don’t like them opaque, but this is actually working for me.  I agree that the price tag is rather intimidating, though.  I’d probably turn to one of the dupes (one of which I own already, now that I look at them) before heading to Ford’s product.

Love, love, love this! I have Violet Fatale and one of the reds and I love the wear on them to death! I’d love to see them send you Flamingo or Spanish Pink to try. You are my go to for swatches (your universal skin tone is such a plus!) to look at before buying, and my source to find new and better products I haven’t heard of yet!

I have this lipstick and love the colour!
this is probably one of my favorite nude pink colour.
I am v tanned and this colour look a bit too pale when just applied but after a little while it will set very nicely on my lip.
BUT again, for some reasons, Tom Ford lipsticks is caky/flak y on me after just few hours.

I never thought I’d spend so much on a lipstick, but I think you’ve convinced me I need to have this one! I’m a nude lip addict so I probably have so many similar colors, but this is just gorgeous!

over 40 bucks for a lipstick?!?!?!!? Heck no! I have a ton of colors like this one. No freakin’ way……Does look nice on you though 🙂

I have a few YSL lipsticks that are VERY similar, but the closest is called Rough Valupte 2. It’s one of my favorite “nudes” and I’m sure I’d love this one, too!

heatherroses Avatar

YSL is only $34 compared to the much too high price of Tom Ford lipstick. I haven’t tried his lipsticks but I’m sure they’re over charging.

I love this color! I’ve owned this lipstick before and it has almost “hit pan”….
Christine- do you have Maybelline’s “Born with it” to do a side by side swatch?

Hey Kristine, I read your blog religously!! Random question, but what kind of lens do you normally use for simple product photography like this? I just bought a new camera and choosing lenses in overwhelming!! I’d really really appreciate it. Thank you!!

Hey Christine, this one seems similar in your swatches to Perfect Day, maybe more pigmented and saturated.. would love to hear what you think how the two compare?:)
