The Summer Season: Milani Coral Bora-Bora Lipstick
The Summer Season: Milani Coral Bora-Bora Lipstick
Milani Coral Bora-Bora Lipstick ($4.99 for 0.13 oz.) is a semi-opaque pinky-coral with a high-frost finish. It applies easily and wears a solid three hours before the majority of it has worn away. It is definitely a frostier lipstick, though, so it will emphasize imperfections on the lips–I wouldn’t recommend it if you suffer from dry/chapped lips unless you exfoliate first! Though a synthetic/waxy scent never is pleasant, it doesn’t linger when applied. Luckily, at under $5, it’s something I can overlook!
Is this the right coral for you? Would you wear it?
The Summer Season is a series of posts featuring bright, vibrant shades of coral, orange, and pink lipsticks and lipglosses — all perfect for a summer of fun — that runs through July 2010.

Milani Coral Bora Bora Lipstick
I’m getting more and more surprised by the affordable but still decent quality products that Milani is coming out with. I think I remember trying a bronzer from them a while back that was really quite good in quality. I also have their adorable little liquid eyeliner pen that’s a must for me when I’m heading out for a night on the town (I love the cat eye look!) This lipstick looks great, I can’t wait to pick one up. I do wish it was a bit more orange, but at a price of $5, I can definitely overlook that, right? I love it when beauty on a budget works out! Thanks for the rec!
Yep, at $5, if it’s not perfect, it’s not too bad 😉 Now, at $45, the color better be perfect for me!
I love Milani lipsticks for the price and coverage.
I’m sure they have a more orange shade with gold shimmer, Orange Gina.
I LOVE Orange Gina
Try Milani, #24 Orange Gina
Have you ever worn a lip stick as a cream blush Christine?
I have, but since I have acne-prone skin, I generally don’t!
Do you think this would make a nice blusher?
I think it’d be too frosty.
I read a review about Milani lipsticks earlier today, as I was thinking of seeking out Fuchsia Freeze; not an easy task in the UK. The review (here: http://www99.epinions.com/review/Lipstick_Fuchsia_Freeze/content_418742308484 )stated that the smell of these is horrific – have Milani now solved this problem? Thanks 🙂
Hey Wendy,
I find the smell pretty unpleasant, but it only smells that way in the tube – not on, so for $5, I can put up with it.
Thanks Christine xxx
Gorgeous colour, and cheap, too!
Yeah, a lipstick I can afford. This color is pretty cute too. Milani has a bright, bright orange lipstick (Mardarina) that I want to try. 🙂
Very pretty color especially if you want to try the coral trend inexpensively!!
Where can I buy The Milany line? Thanks!
Local drugstores – CVS, Walgreens, etc. I believe. You can check at milanicosmetics.com.
wow! this color looks absolutely beautiful with your skin tone! I’m really loving it… 🙂
Christina what are your overall thoughts on Milani?
They are one of the better brands for below $10 price point. I’m usually not disappointed by them!
Oh crap, I’m listening to Bionic (Christina Aguilera’s new album) which is why I typed Christina instead of Christine! LOL Sorry Christine! =D
No worries 😉
Coral Bora Bora that’s one of the shades I’ve been wanting to pick up when I get a chance, I love coral lipsticks and glosses, my favorites so far by Milani are grape tini and creamy cocoa.
What a stunning colour. I totally love it. I would certainly try and get something similar to this here in SA.
Thanks for the review and swatch. 🙂
I love Milani, but I am not a fan of frosty corals. I have a large collection of coral lips and glosses but they are almost all of them creamy. The two frosty ones I have (Estee Lauder “coral kiss” and Mac “costa chic”) I don’t really use…
