Tarte Goddess Glow Holiday 2017 Highlighter ($35.00 for 0.42 oz.) is a medium gold with warm, yellow undertones and a sparkling sheen. This has noticeable sparkle to it, so if you are not a fan of more glittery highlighters, then this is most definitely not going to work for you. On the other hand, if the more sparkle the better in your book, then perhaps you’ll enjoy the finish.

The compact is massive–it’s a whopping 0.42 oz. of product–but it is to the point of being unnecessarily large for most people (it will take eons to get through this one, even if used on its own all year!). According to Tarte, the powder is supposed to “build a natural radiance or blinding strobe” with a “silky, weightless powder” with “pigment [that] builds effortlessly.” The finish was more buildable than the pigmentation from my experience; the powder was loosely pressed and a bit dry, so I just did not find the pigmentation built up much with layering, but it did appear more metallic and even more sparkly with two to three layers on the skin. It had semi-sheer to medium coverage (built up) that did emphasize my skin’s natural texture somewhat. It lasted for seven and a half hours on me before becoming a little patchy.
