NARS Madly Blush
Are You Mad for Madly?
NARS Madly Blush ($28.00 for 0.16 oz.) is described as a “warm soft-focus seashell pink.” It’s a medium brown with a hint of orange and peach gold shimmer that translates as mostly a sheen when applied. I didn’t really detect pink in it–perhaps if you have pink undertones, it may be more noticeable. MAC Peachtwist is less brown, redder. MAC Soft Sand is a bit browner. Illamasqua Writhe is browner and has a stronger sheen.
It has a silky, finely-milled texture that’s not too stiff or too soft, so it’s not powdery or difficult to get color onto the brush and then onto the skin. The color is buildable to true-to-pan color should you desire such payoff. It adds a soft warm glow to cheeks on my skin tone when applied moderately. If used more heavily, it will start to give my complexion a bronzed look. This does have very warm undertones, so cooler skin tones might find it’s too orange for their liking. The shimmer yields a lovely sheen that doesn’t emphasize pores or imperfections of the skin’s natural texture. When I trialed this, it lasted for eight hours and had some noticeable fading along the edges but didn’t separate.
