Surratt Beauty Perfectionniste Lipslique ($34.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “pinky rose.” It’s a soft, muted pink with subtle, warm undertones and a natural shine. The formula is supposed to be an “alternative to lipstick” with a “sheer to medium finish.” (As a note, Sephora also has the following: “Surratt Li[p]slique goes on smooth, delivering sheer yet buildable color. This moisturizing formula features high-coverage and goes on thick for lasting, subtle color and a glossy finish,” which is confusing and contradictory, and Barney’s, which was first to carry Surratt when it debuted, doesn’t have anything like that.) The texture is creamy with moderate slip that glides on easily and feels comfortable to wear without being too heavy or too thin. Perfectionniste has semi-sheer coverage that goes on fairly evenly and smoothly, while the color lasts for four hours and is hydrating over time. There was no scent or taste to the formula. Worth noting is that it comes in a twist-up, slim pencil, and it contains substantially less than your average lipstick (0.05 oz. vs. 0.10 oz.), though it’s not a real surprise, as the slimmer format typically results in this type of quantity (across brands).
