These look SO underwhelming and/or awful. At best, SOME of these might be used as toppers or days when you want a sheer look, but MAC could’ve done so much better. When so many brands issuing such stunning lippies, these are easily the worst swatches I’ve seen in a long time. I’ll be checking out your dupes list for alternatives.
Yikes…$32 for a MAC lipstick. Chanel, yes. MAC, no. Based on some of the swatches, I’d say that the quality isn’t on par with the price point. Very disappointing.

Are they supposed to be so sheer/similar (the lighter colors) and… patchy? Hades Fire looks like it could be so pretty if it was more even, yeah?
Well, most of these are going to be toppers for other lipsticks as best, and I feel like I already have enough of those. The swampy green colour does kind of appeal to me, although it’s visibly patchy. I have a darker, more opaque version of that colour, but the formula is a bit drying. That’s the only one that really grabs me. I’m disappointed, since a lot of them look so beautiful in the tube. I think they should have just improved on the Dazzle formula they’ve used a few times and gone with that.

Whoa! Some of these shades and textures are similar to the UD XX Vintage Vice lipsticks and the payoff and texture on those are so much better compared to these. I’ve been waiting anxiously for your review on these MAC Metallic lips collection. Thank you so much, Christine!
I agree, but I think UD vintage lipsticks may have better texture. When I saw these I was actually thinking they would be more metallic like UD Smog and Roach (I feel like those are true metallic). Good to know they aren’t the same so I will be saving some money 🙂
What a mixed bag these look to be! I see several that have a gorgeous foiled look like we’ve been seeing recently, and others that appear to be more sheer toppers or transformers. I particularly like Metal Head as a topper to “smoke” an underlying lipstick, and In Lust, Devotional and Disobedient for foiled/ shimmery lipstick!
Others, however, look hideous or poorly formulated.
Are these like the Dazzle lipsticks from a thousand years ago? I think they look cool myself, I might pick up one or two.
I don’t understand some of the replies on here, these are AWESOME!!! I want them all! Well most of them, Pearly One Silver Spoon, and Cold Front are not my thing. Zerocool is the $h!t tho.
Ugh, why are these so sheer? Still over here waiting for something that will replace the KvD Foiled Love lipsticks.

It wasn’t a major refund but it will buy me a couple of the golden ones and that one with the green glitter!
These either seem to be sheer or glitter top coats. I was excited, but at least my wallet is happy now!
I’m reminded of the Dazzle lipsticks too. I wish MAC would keep at least one permanent glitter formula, because I love sparkly, shifting shades!
Some of the new frosts are glitters like On and On
I do not know yet what to think about them. Looks like the dazzle finish which I do not like. I find most of the colours pretty but I have to try them.
I will be buying cold front, it’s so beautiful! The darker colours seem to go patchy but I think these are supposed to be more glitter and less pigment? I like this collection! I’ll have to try foiled rose first before I decide, but it’s lovely
I think quite a few of these would be nice toppers! Not sure most were meant to stand alone?

So many of these look basically the same on the lips ? Zerocool is the only one really doing anything for me.
I was hoping these lipsticks would be akin to the metallics from the MAC Nudes and Metallics collection (2013) – lots of base color with a metallic/frosty finish. But most of the swatches appear to have sheer to semi-opaque bases. It will be interesting to see the copy for this collection, but I’ll most likely be passing.
I heard metallic and thought foiled, shiny not glittery. I adore Mac, but not about to spend my limited edition Mac money on glitter toppers that look like what I wore in the 80’s. We may as well go to the $1 store and buy 17 different roll on glitters, it would be cheaper, less patchy to wear over our existing Mac we already own. It makes me sad. I wanted KVD metallic new Limecrime metallic. Am I asking too much?
I actually think some of them are nice as toppers but unfortunately they’re not what I thought they would be and I’m pretty much good on toppers.
Nightly Ritual and Metalhead interest me the most, but not a lot of these are swatching nicely and some of them kind of look the same.
These all look terrible. What a disappointment!
And I was ready to drop some cash on this collection. Guess I will have to find something else to spend my “MAC x beauty and the beast” fund on. MAC is just full of disapointments in 2017 ?
I’m going to cave on one of these! I can see them being pretty toppers , I never can say no to a good sparkly lip.Digging for Gold and Foiled Rose look right up my alley. I’ll test them out in store or wait for the review before buying.
Kind of want them all to be honest, they look spectacular in the tube anyway!

I am disappointed in this collection.
These remind me of the UD XX Vintage lipsticks, but those looked more moisturizing and less patchy. Except for “Anything once” or “Nightly Ritual” (not both because they look pretty much the same), the other ones don’t seem worthy if buying. What a dissapointment!
I’m definitely going to need Zerocool! I think these are really pretty, though they are more sheer than I had hoped. They’ll be lovely toppers, though.
Sometimes I wonder if companies actually test tgeir products at all before bringing them to market. This is one of those times. These look so bad! And they could look so good…

Talk about falling short of the glory. These could be fine if they were priced around $8 or $9, and worn over another, better lipstick.

Every one of these looks like they would need to be layered. Zerocool might be interesting over Squid Ink or Kale, but not for that price.
super bad service today Went in to ask about my eyebrow pencil and all I got was a sales pitch that I was supposed buy more stuff. Blamed a bad eyebrow pencil on a bad sharpener. That was all fine and good but as I walked away I turned around and saw the girl roll her eyes and shake her head and talk bad about me to another sales rep. WOW!!! Never will I buy Mac products. I had just spent over 100.00 worth of stuff. Never again. Lost a customer today.
Although I hoped for better color payoff overall from this collection, I still purchased Jupiter and Hades Fire as those seem to be two of the few that actually had decent swatches and looked good on the lips! I’m super disappointed in Metal Head and Nightly Ritual!
