Shiseido Sweet Pea RD 304 Perfect Rouge Lipstick

Shiseido Sweet Pea RD 304 Perfect Rouge Lipstick ($25.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a strawberry red with warm undertones and a white shimmer. There’s a natural sheen to the finish. NARS Flamenco is very similar but less warm-toned. Guerlain Rouge Sensuel is a bit warmer. Milani Bing Cherry is slightly brighter and doesn’t have shimmer. Guerlain Grenade is very similar.

This formula is extremely hydrating with an almost gel-like consistency that glides right on.  It’s lightweight, comfortable to wear, and has no discernible taste or scent.  Sweet Pea wears a solid five and a half hours, and the color applies opaquely with little product needed.  I’m always impressed by Shiseido’s Perfect Rouge formula; it’s a really moisturizing formula that feels so good to wear and wears well.  I also love that there’s 0.14 oz. of product, while many lipsticks are 0.10 to 0.12 oz. in size.

That looks lovely.  I like it a lot, but I think I have colors in my bag that are similar enough that I can skip.  Especially as it’s a color I don’t wear often.

I love Temptalia, this website is obviously the best one so far, since it offers so much and it’s so well organized. The only thing that I think could improve it is if you took into consideration animal testing in your reviews. That’s a huge factor for me that turns an A product into an F one. I’m not saying that you should stop reviewing brands that test on animals, but it’b be nice if you included a warning (i.e. the product performs wonderfully, but fyi the brand is known for testing on animals). I think that nowadays this is an important piece of information that a website like yours should provide, so that we can make a truly informed decision.

I don’t hear a lot about Shiseido anymore either.  I used one of their eyeliners everyday for years but now I have a hard time finding a large selection of their products in-store.

I just bought Sweet Pea last week. It is my first ever Shiseido lipstick and I absolutely love the formula, the wear time and especially the color. I think Shiseido, at least the lipsticks, are underrated. I know I’ll be picking up more!

I have a few Shiseido matte lipsticks and always think it’s a shame no-one seems to consider them or talk about them. They last for quite a while and are VERY velvet-y and silky for a matte lipstick. The problem with Shiseido, imo, is that they have a very, very limited range of colours and those colours are pretty basic. But, as lipstick brands go, I think they deserve more credit.

This is my go to lipstick, and I actually bought a 2nd one which I almost never do.  Love the formula and the colour is great on my tan Indian skin.  I wish Shiseido had more colours for darker skin tones in this formula.  Another one that has a similar hydrating formula is Chantecaille.

That colour looks lovely on you Christine! It really is a perfect summer soft red.

I love that you’ve reviewed some Shiseido! They don’t get nearly enough love and have some really nice products, so it’s nice to some more reviews around.

I’ve got to check this line out! I was just thinking today how great Shiseido’s lipsticks are, except for wear time. The ones I’ve had in the past wore three hours, tops, which is low for me. I never minded, because they were exceptionally beautiful and comfortable.

But this sounds like just what I was wishing for, LOL! Shiseido that lasts!

I actually bought this just a couple days ago on a whim – couldn’t justify a new Rouge G, and I wanted to try this formula, and I am so happy I did. It’s so comfortable, and the shape of the lipstick makes it easy to apply and get a crisp line, and the color is gorgeous. I need more of these!
