Bite Beauty Butter Cream Lipsticks ($28.00 for 0.15 oz.) were a pleasant surprise. The majority of the range had nice color payoff with a hydrating, comfortable-to-wear formua. A few shades had more slip than others, which made them apply with some streaks, though they weren’t overly noticeable most of the time. I think the range is lacking in cooler-toned shades overall, and it could use at least one lighter and deeper shade than what exists in the set of eight to better accommodate a variety of skin tones. Bite’s decision to “hand cut” the bullet so it is flat doesn’t seem to add anything from my experience; it’s a creamy lipstick, but it’s not the creamiest lipstick on the market, and it doesn’t feel particularly creamier (just thicker) than their standard Luminous Creme formula. It comes off as more gimmick and excessive marketing than true innovation. They didn’t reduce the product size, and the packaging seems to be an upgrade from the standard formula, but it is $4 more than the standard formula they have (which is very good). My personal favorites were Hazelnut (A) and Rosewood (A).
