My london drugs usually gets the RT collections in. I can’t remember if you have those or not, but you could potentially order from the london drugs website when they come in stock.

I agree, I was like WTF. Also I have read a couple of comments on instagram about the metal already chipping off. I don’t know if this is true or not but it would be a huge dissapointment if so.

CeeCee Avatar

I agree. There are some brushes (I think the blush brush especially) that are purposefully wide at the very end of the handle so it will stand up right on a vanity so it’s easy to display. It’s annoying. I prefer the look and organization of all my brushes in canisters of some kind and those wide handles make that so difficult

MakeupTrau Avatar

These are too pricey for RT. I am hesitant because O did not like the recent, LE, Nix Pix.
I saw these Fri in ULTA and the only one that was sold out was the flat top contour brush.
Are these permanent? ULTA didn’t have any info about them , not even the price was posted. Lol

Jessica W Avatar

I talked to the mgr at the ulta near me in colorado and they are permanent. they are just exclusive to ulta for a few months, i guess. she thought they might be adding more to the collection, but didn’t know. the brushes are gorgeous. i bought the triangle foundation one and it is unblievably awesome. i need to wait until next payday to get another one, tho.

While these are pretty, I’m super surprised by the pricing of brushes. With prices like this, you might as well buy a Sigma or MAC brush! I own ALL of the Real Technique brushes (with the exception of the duo fiber kit — I can’t do anything with that) because they are affordable yet awesome brushes! These will not be added to the collection…

Hmmm….I already have a bunch of Real Technique Brushes and they work fine as is. I actually prefer brushed aluminum/rubber handles since they are lightweight and easy to grip, whereas slick metal handles can sometimes tarnish and be slippery. I also prefer black hairs, as white hairs can stain. Not sure I want to upgrade to these, as they cost a lot more, but if the brush head is superior, I might consider it if there’s a sale. The 3 sided foundation brush sounds very unique.

Wendy Avatar

The rose gold contour brush looks nice. I like the long handle unlike the Nars ita that’s not that long or the mac one. Kind of pricy but what other companies doesn’t raise prices? As long as the quality is still good than i will purchase (:

Andrea Avatar

The quality of the previous brushes was awful, if you ask me. Two of them, the bristles came off completely. Now that being said, to jump from few bucks to twenty some… You better make sure they are worthy of such a quantum leap. We’ll see.
I personally don’t like RT but will go to my loval Ulta to give them a look.

Christy Avatar

May I know which brushes were the ones whose bristles came off completely? I’d like to avoid those. I have the core and starter collection, blush brush and stippling brush for a year or so now and I don’t encounter any problems with those. I do know that with the stippling brush it’s very hit or miss though. A lot of people reported the bristles falling out completely but for some their brushes have no issues at all.

Megan Avatar

These are a lot more expensive than usual, but at least you can use coupons on real techniques at ulta. I might pick up some of the more unique ones – the contour, triangle, and pointed crease brushes all interest me, even if the triangle thing is a gimmick. I’d like to check these out in person.

Gracey O'Connell Avatar

They certainly look beautiful, but some very Zoeva-esque which is why I’m shocked at the price point! The regular RT brushes aren’t even SUPER cheap in Ireland, compared to the prices I’ve seen in the states, so I’m hesitant about these. I’d really only be interested in splurging on one of the rose gold handles (the flat contour brush!) but even then… I think they’re getting a little too over confident with their pricing!

Brynne Avatar

I don’t think that the pricing on these is that ridiculous, provided that they are the quality that I expect. The regular RT line is exceptionally cheap for the quality of the brushes, and I assume these are meant to be a step up. I’m definitely keeping my eyes open for these.

Cami Avatar

I was surprised by the price of these brushes as well. I can’t wait for someone to do a review on them, though.. because I don’t have an Ulta in Hawaii, I can’t go see what the brushes look and feel like in person, and not about to dish out money for something I only see pictures of. But they DO look gorgeous!

Krista Avatar

I saw these at my Ulta this past weekend but I decided to hold off until I see some reviews. It’s a lot of money to spend on brushes, for me at least, to go in blindly. I wish they had them out on display, like the it cosmetics brushes, so I could feel them and get a better idea.

They do look beautiful!

Rae Avatar

Phew! Okay, I’m glad I’m not the only one going bug-eyed at those price tags — they seem so totally out of line for Real Techniques!

That said: would I pay them? Maybe, but I’m pretty darn hesitant to do so. With their regular range in mind, these price tags just seem like a money grab — like, “yes, we know we’ve proven to you that we can get by charging half of this, but we’ll double the price anyways just to see if you’ll fork over the cash.”

That said, I would love to read a review/comparison for these if you have time, Christine! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that these brushes somehow warrant the price jump — like, maybe those white bristles are super-soft, or… something.

Ryou Avatar

The price jump is pretty steep from their regular line, which is kind of a pity seeing as one of the biggest selling point of RT is its affordability. That being said, the handles of the brushes seem to be a bit too narrow/long for my big hands, and white bristles always drive me nuts because they look dirty with a single use. Not sure if I’d be indulging in these.

Do you plan to review them, Christine?

Lisa Avatar

I’m always on the lookout for new synthetic brushes, so these seem interesting. I’ve never tried the regular line of RT brushes because the I just can’t get past the handles. I know aesthetics shouldn’t matter when it comes to brushes, but they’re just plain unattractive, and would be hard to store. Standing them up on my vanity just isn’t practical with cats. 🙂 So I’m quite excited that I might be able to finally try out the brand with beautiful handles!

Elena Avatar

Hi Lisa! Glad someone has said it. The handles on the regular line are a huge turn off for me too. Chances are the angled eyeliner brush will not be used to set face powder, so why bother trying to color code everything.

Ade Avatar

The bristles are way softer than the old ones.
We’re talking high end synthetic/Kumano-made synthetic bristles here, hence the crazy price tag.
BUT… that molten metal handle… UGH! It attracts finger prints, yo! Mine looks nasty already 🙁

The dosh Avatar

At these prices they better be amazing. If not I can get SK brushes or sephora for cheaper or same price knowing the quality is there. Idk rt, idk…

abigail Avatar

What a shame that they are choosing to be so gimmicky and charge for it. Don’t fall for the trick of snazzy packaging, girls. It’s about the BRUSH, not the pretty handle. Be smart.

Eve Avatar

I’m very interested in the contour and triangle foundation brushes, however at about $60 for two brushes idk that its something I would actually do. Maybe during a sale… would these ever be eligible I wonder

Elena Avatar

I was just wondering when they’re going to release a “premium” line with a price hike. Here it is, still color coded as if we’re going to set finishing powder with an angled eye shadow brush. Lame. I only have Nic’s picks brush set with chrome ferrule and it was a disappointment. The cheek brush will be useful, but the duo-fibre face brush was a total dud – really floppy and lacks density which makes duo-fibre special. Just because it’s soft and not scratchy doesn’t mean it’s faaaaaabulous. It’s good they have a channel since youtube needs to show me what to do with it now. Doubt there will be more purchases.

Aline Avatar

I have several RT brushes for eyes and face and yet I always reach for my MakeupGeek brushes instead. Their prices are really good and I think the quality is better than RT. The only problem is finding them in stock.

CatG Avatar

I bought the rosegold contour brush in store yesterday. It was just too pretty to pass up plus I like the shape and size. It was a little pricey, but I figured I could always return it if it was a total disappointment. I did have a good look at the triangle foundation brush and I’m intrigued, the shape is a design I haven’t seen before.

Wendy Avatar

I bought the blush brush today and I think it’s really pretty and nice so far. I honestly don’t really understand some of these comments here. People jump at the chance to buy other brands at this price or higher, but if it’s real techniques, it’s out of line? They are meant to be a higher quality line than their original brushes so obviously that would come with a higher price???????
