NYX Pink Lyric Round Lipstick ($4.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a brightened magenta pink with cool, blue undertones. The finish is creamy with very minor settling into lip lines and opaque color coverage. MAC Pink Pigeon is a touch darker and brighter. MAC Love Forever is a touch darker and less pink (more purple). NARS Schiap is darker, pinker. Milani Rose Hip is pinker, brighter. MAC Florida looks similar.
This one has a lot of creaminess, but it doesn’t slip around as much as Stella or Haute Melon. The consistency allows for really smooth application with excellent color payoff. Pink Lyric applies smoothly, though, and it doesn’t slide around and slip over itself. When I trialed the wear of this shade, I was able to get four hours out of it, which is average for lipstick for me. Â I really liked the natural sheen of the finish, because it gave lips a more luminous look.

I have this one! 🙂 I don’t wear it a ton, but I do really like it, most of Nyx’s new colors look pretty nice although I haven’t seen great swatches of most of them. I’m so glad that you’re swatching them though! In any case, I’m glad you compared it to Love Forever, because that’s one that I did want, and I didn’t realize this one was so close! And plus, this one sticks to my lips like crazy, so no problem with extensive wear for me!

Did you read the article? Because there are no safety concerns with the 400 lipsticks they tested.
Someone sent me this link the other day and I noticed the same thing… Right in the first few lines of the report: “FDA’s studies have found no lead levels that would pose safety concerns when lipstick is used as intended.”
However, it WAS actually kind of fun to read though and see the different levels… not only in the different brands but also with the different colors/formulas 🙂
I received a dozen pitches about lead in lipstick and how we should all switch to X brand as a result of this study… except it appears nobody who pitched took time to read the page at all and just thought scare tactics were the right way to go about it!

Have this and love it, it’s been my go-to lipstick for the last couple of weeks! However mine doesn’t look that dark pink in the tube as in your pictures..hmm. Looks about the same on the lips though. Love it!

Ooh it was really a surprise once swatched on your lips! Much more milky and less intense then I thought, a little lighter. I really like this one!
