NARS South Pacific Eyeshadow Duo Review, Photos, Swatches

NARS South Pacific Eyeshadow Duo

NARS South Pacific Eyeshadow Duo

NARS South Pacific Eyeshadow Duo ($33.00 for 0.14 oz.) is described as a “shimmering blue turquoise” and “dark aquamarine.”

On the left, there is a twinkling sky blue with a hint of teal and white frost finish. Inglot #415 is similar but it leans a touch greener and has a subtle golden sheen. The color payoff of this shade was excellent–so densely packed with color with a rich, smooth texture that made it easy to blend and apply.

On the right, there is a muted, silvered blue with a silver-white shimmer-sheen. It’s paler and bluer compared to MAC Moon’s Reflection, while Urban Decay Mary Jane is much darker. It has good color payoff, but it is a touch sheerer compared to the left shade. It’s very soft, though, and it applies well onto the skin.

Per NARS, their eyeshadows are supposed to be long-wearing and crease-resistant. In my experience, they still need to be worn over an eyeshadow base for all-day wear, but alone, they wear seven to eight hours with subtle creasing. They don’t fall apart immediately after application, but an eyeshadow base is recommended for best results.

In the second paragraph, second line, did you mean greener? I assume so, just wanted to let you know 🙂
But ahhh, I love blue shadows and these are gorgeous! I just never figure out a way to wear them for daily looks.

I don’t really care for the first color in the duo or these colors together at all for that matter.
I would maybe wear the second shade with Parisian Skies, which is absolutely beautiful.

hi! lovely review, as always.

I have had this duo for a long time and like it. I don’t wear a lot of blue, but this duo is really wearable and fun without too much effort.

(I would have never bought it on my own; I had a session with a NARS artist and he used that, along with the goldfinger single e/s and kalliste liner and it looked so good I bought all of it and to date he did the most original and fun makeover I have had.)

I love these colors and I bought them a while ago, but I’ve been having a difficult time wearing them without looking over the top. I have brown eyes, and I was just wondering how you would wear them!

Color is prettier on the swatch than on the pan….but the two blues are very similar and not enough contract for a duo. Did you know that when Nars started the line that the color cosmetics were named after famous old movies, ie. South Pacific? My grade school friend used to talk me buying the newest brand of lipstick…and Nars was one of them when it first started.
