NARS Caravaggio Eyeshadow Duo
NARS Caravaggio Eyeshadow Duo
NARS Caravaggio Eyeshadow Duo ($33.00 for 0.14 oz.) is described as a “azalea pink” and “iridescent violet.”
The pink shade is a rich, vibrant raspberry-fuchsia with a pearled sheen–it’s not full-on fuchsia, but it’s not as red or as dark as a raspberry would be (as in the real fruit!). It has such a lovely texture–really dense, smooth, and silky to the touch, plus the color payoff is excellent! The hue is quite similar to Urban Decay’s Woodstock–perhaps the slightest bit darker. MAC Bright Fuchsia is brighter but still similar. MAC Hepcat has a similar base color but has much more purple in it.
The purple shade is a softened, jewel-tone purple with red undertones and a pearled sheen. It, too, has great color opacity with a silky smooth texture that’s rich and dense and a breeze to work with. The color is similar to MAC Double Feature 2 but lighter. MAC Vibrant Grape is also similar but has a much more matte finish.
Per NARS, their eyeshadows are supposed to be long-wearing and crease-resistant. In my experience, they still need to be worn over an eyeshadow base for all-day wear, but alone, they wear seven to eight hours with subtle creasing. They don’t fall apart immediately after application, but an eyeshadow base is recommended for best results.

Oh, I SO want this!
The colors are gorgeous!!
Hmmm. Knowing Caravaggio’s paintings, I wouldn’t have picked that name with these two colors. They’re pretty though.
love te second one especially! has a beautiful glow
Gorgeous! I love pink and purple together… I just can’t stand how dirty NARS matte black packaging looks and that price!
Gorgeous shades!!!!
My only question is – how would I wear these?! lol pretty though!
Yes, exactly my thoughts. Would love to see Christine do some looks with this.
iam in love! soon as i seen this i bought it! lovely colours 😀
They swatch so beautifully! I definitely want to see these in person.
I voted “Love It” even though I would never wear it–it’s just so lovely. The two colors perfectly capture the two types of bougainvillea that grow all over San Diego.
that is so gorgeous! i just might nee to get this haha
This is adorable! I can’t pull off bright eyeshadows, but it’s gorgeous. I especially love the purple.
..hmmm I wonder if these would be cool to use as a blush as well (even though it wouldn’t last as long lol)
Oooooh. Christine, could you start showing us how to use products we already own in new ways?
Yes I agree. I’m curious to know if you think these would work as a blush? I’ve enjoyed wearing INGLOT shadows as blushes in the past, so I’m wondering what you think about these two Christine?
Sure, why not?
omg so gorgeous!
I LOVE this!
The texture (especially that the purple) looks so luxurious. I just… would never wear these! I love pale pinks but whenever I put colors like this on I just feel like it looks so garish. I’ll save colors like these for my lips!
I have this, got it last year. thought it was pretty average, but i do like it. defs needs a primer underneath as it is no way near longwearing.
I’m definitely adding this to my birthday wishlist! It looks like the perfect
Woops, it posted before I could finish. As I was saying, it looks like the perfect combo for a birthday look. Thanks for the review. 🙂
I have always loved this one! They were out of stock when I went to buy it, and I have forgotten about this since. Maybe I should take a trip back to Nars…
Beautiful colours! I just don’t know if I’d wear the pink as often as I’d like!
I have to admit, having seen Caravaggio’s paintings these are peculiar colours to associate them with.
I love Caravaggio, the artist, but these colors are just not doing it for me 🙁
I wear these all the time. Easy to wear as a colourful smokey eye or as a liner. Blend/mix well together or can be worn on their own.
A pink with purple tones and a purple with pink tones… Loving the concept.
