Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows ($9.99 for 0.064 oz.) are supposed to be a cream and powder hybrid that “does not require primer” and “does not crease, flake, or smudge” with “intense pigmentation.” There are ten shades (all of which I will review), and this review focuses on three of the warmer, more autumn-y shades. All three were very pigmented with soft, dense, and creamy textures. They creased after seven hours of wear for me, and they’ll absolutely smudge if you touch them; it’s not like they set and lock into place (they behaved just like your typical powder eyeshadow would if you lightly touched them, where some product may transfer or blend a little more).

They reminded me of Ardency Inn’s Manuka Honey Eyeshadows as well as some of the Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows (more the Metallic finishes) or even some of the ultra metallic Sleek eyeshadows (Sunset #3 comes to mind). All more powder-like than cream, but they have a creaminess and intensity to them that is reminiscent of cream eyeshadow.

Makeup Geek In the Spotlight Foiled Eyeshadow ($9.99 for 0.064 oz.) is described as a “soft pink with coral undertones.” It’s a brightened, peachy-orange with warm undertones and a frosted, metallic finish. It had really good color payoff with a soft, creamy, blendable consistency that made it easy to lid. For a metallic, it also seemed to go on particularly smooth (it didn’t emphasize the skin on my lids). It started to crease slightly after seven hours. bareMinerals Shazam (LE) is darker, pinker. Anastasia Fresh Peach (LE) is darker, less metallic. MAC Mortal #2 (LE) is less metallic. Gucci Beauty Autumn Fire #1 (P) is yellower. Make Up For Ever I520 Pinky Sand (P, $21.00) is lighter. Chanel Tisse Vendome #3 (P) is darker. Kat Von D Killing Jar (P) is pinker. MAC Sun Tweaked (P, $15.00) is pinker. bareMinerals Ball Gown (LE) is lighter. Makeup Geek Flame Thrower Foiled Eyeshadow ($9.99 for 0.064 oz.) is described as a “true brightened warm copper.” It’s a brightened, medium-dark copper with warm, orange-brown undertones and a metallic sheen and light gold micro-sparkle. It was intensely pigmented–a little went a long way–and very smooth. The color started to crease after seven hours of wear on me. Make Up For Ever I736 Copper Red (P, $21.00) is less metallic, lighter. Make Up For Ever I702 Mahogany (P, $21.00) is darker, browner. LORAC Nude #5 (LE) is similar. MAC Espresso Blend #1 (LE) is lighter. Makeup Geek Goddess (P, $5.99) is less metallic. Cle de Peau #121 (LE, $45.00) is browner. Fyrinnae Fireside Interlude (P, $6.80) is more orange. Makeup Geek Vegas Lights (P, $6.99) is redder. Sleek MakeUP Sunset #9 (P, $9.99) is redder. LORAC Gold (P) is lighter. Marc Jacobs Beauty The Starlet #4 (P) is lighter. Makeup Geek Showtime Foiled Eyeshadow ($9.99 for 0.064 oz.) is described as a “rusty brown with warm undertones.” It’s a rich, burgundy with warm undertones and a frosted sheen. This was less metallic than the other two, and it seemed even smoother (though the others seemed quite smooth as well). The pigmentation was excellent, while the texture felt buttery and silky. The color started to crease after seven and a half hours of wear. MAC Plummed (LE, $15.00) is less metallic. Make Up For Ever D826 Fig (P, $21.00) is cooler-toned. NARS Desdemona (P, $29.00) is lighter. Anastasia Pink Sapphire (LE) is similar. Makeup Geek Burlesque (P, $5.99) is less metallic. Makeup Geek Enchanted (P, $6.99) is a smidgen lighter.
