Make Up For Ever I802 Coral Pink Artist Shadow ($21.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a light-medium, coral-pink with a soft, frosted finish. Surratt Beauty Ponceau (P, $32.00) is brighter. This is technically classified as a blush (see the label on the back of the compact), though it is lumped in with the Artist Shadow formula and range. The new Artist Shadow formula is described as a “highly-blendable, gel-powder eyeshadow with vivid color payoff” (guess we’ll substitute eyeshadow for blush!). The texture is very interesting on this shade; some of the Artist Shadows feel like a regular powder eyeshadow, but some feel more like a firm cream, which this one does. I can take the back of my brush, stab at the eyeshadow, and it creates a dent but doesn’t chip away any product; similarly, I can press and smooth it back out to an even surface. It’s incredibly pigmented with a smooth texture that blends easily on the skin. As an eyeshadow, it lasted for eight and a half hours before creasing slightly, and as a blush, it lasted for eight hours.

Also, I’ve yet to see the special pricing when you buy more than one eyeshadow on Sephora’s website. I spoke with the Make Up For Ever Boutique at Valley Fair (CA), and she said that the LA and NY boutiques will ship anywhere. If you live near a boutique, they have the special pricing in effect. If you buy two or more shades, plus the duo compact, it’s $34 ($17/each), and if you purchase three shades with the trio palette, it’s $44 ($14.67/each). The boutique said they were charging $14.33/each after 3. There is also an 18x and 10x palette available for those who want to fill a larger palette.
