There are eight eyeshadows (each is 0.03 oz.) in the brand’s new Artist Shadow formula. The Artist Shadow retails for $21.00/0.08 oz. ($262.50/oz.), so this palette contains a total of $63 worth of eyeshadow, but what’s particularly nice is you get to try eight shades for the price of two full-sized ones. Make Up For Ever’s eyeshadows are larger than the average eyeshadow (which is usually 0.05 oz.). The quality of the shades in the palette is very good, but you have to love your shimmer finishes, as all but one is rather shimmery/frosted. They wore well on me–eight hours or longer–and had good color payoff and soft, smooth textures. All eight shades part of the permanent range, so you could also purchase them individually. The included brushes are lower quality than Make Up For Ever’s full-sized brushes (not as soft, less dense, overly springy).

#M536 Milk Tea is a light-medium, warm-toned brown with a matte finish. It had good color payoff, and the texture was soft and silky without being powdery. The color wore well for eight hours before fading slightly. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

#I524 Pinky Beige is a light-medium, warm-toned peach with a pearly sheen. It had nice p igmentation with a soft, buttery texture that was silky and blendable. The color lasted well for eight and a half hours before starting to fade. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

#I550 Olive Gray is a medium-dark, warm brown with just a smidgen of gray and a pearly sheen. It seems to be more of a brown than taupe. It had fantastic pigmentation that went on so smoothly! #D652 Celestial Earth is a medium-dark, copper-brown with a frosted finish. It was intensely pigmented with a very soft, buttery texture that was a dream to apply as it blended and adhered well to bare skin. The color wore well for eight and a half hours when I tested it. #ME728 Copper Red is a brightened, metallic copper. It had rich color payoff with a very soft and buttery texture that applied very smoothly. The color didn’t start to fade for almost nine hours. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

#ME230 Peacock Blue is a medium-dark, slightly muted, blue with a hint of green and teal shimmer over a frosted sheen. It is a lot less metallic compared to ME728 Copper Red (which has the same finish, technically). The color payoff was good, and while the texture was very soft to the touch, it didn’t seem to stick as well to the skin so it didn’t look as intense applied as it did in the pan. #D926 Blueberry is a medium, violet purple with subtle warm, pink undertones and a frosted, metallic finish. It had a more sparkly texture, so it was a slightly thicker, denser texture that can be pressed into the skin for a smoother, more metallic finish. #ME930 Black Purple is a deep, dark rich eggplant burgundy with subtle, warm undertones and a soft, frosted finish. It had excellent pigmentation and went on so smoothly.
