Rainbow Interlude

MAC Rainbow Interlude Lipglass ($18.50 for 0.10 fl. oz.) is a translucent pink with pink and silver pearl. It had sheer coverage and lightened my natural lip color a bit while adding more of a pink tint to them, but the effect that was more noticeable was the sparkle and shine. The texture was smooth, somewhat tacky, but comfortable to wear and easy to spread across the lips. It lasted for three hours on me.

Worth noting, the Lipglasses in this collection contain significantly less product than regular Lipglass–the tube may seem thicker, but it’s likely due to thicker plastic. MAC Lipglass typically contains 0.16 fl. oz. and retails for $16 (or $100.00/fl. oz.), while this one is $18.50 for 0.10 fl. oz. (or $185.00/fl. oz.). The tubes are very similar to the kind that Dazzleglasses and Cremsheen Glasses come in. None of the glosses were described as sheer (Lipglass is a “high coverage” formula, per MAC’s website), so none of them rated very well, though I think a few would work for layering or sheerer lip looks, if that’s something you like!

$18.50/0.1 oz. - $185.00 Per Ounce

The Lipglass formula is supposed to be “pigmented, very shiny and can impart subtle or dramatic color” that can be worn “on its own, over lip pencil or lipstick” and will “condition lips.” MAC could use an update on the description as some shades are more pigmented than others but several are sheerer and likely intended to be that way. The formula has a very glossy, high-shine finish with a light-medium weight and moderate tackiness.

I have found that newer Lipglasses (over the last couple of years) are smoother and not quite as tacky as the formula was many years ago. They wear from three to six hours on me and are usually lightly hydrating. MAC recently updated the shade range and packaging for the range (though the formula was said to be unchanged), so worth noting is that with that packaging change came a reduction in quantity to 0.10 fl. oz. (was 0.17 fl. oz.), which may matter for some but not everyone.

Dreamlover

MAC Dreamlover Lipglass ($18.50 for 0.10 fl. oz.) is a milky peach with pink, white, and gold pearl in it. It had sheer coverage, which gave my lips a milkier, muted pink appearance with noticeable shimmer. The milky quality made some of the settling into lip lines more apparent, though the thicker Lipglass texture made that less severe than it would have been in another formulation. This shade wore for three and a half hours and was lightly hydrating.

MAC Butterfly Bling Lipglass ($18.50 for 0.10 fl. oz.) is a light-medium, rosy copper with multi-colored shimmer (pink, gold, copper). It had sheer color coverage with more semi-sheer coverage with respect to the shimmer. The texture was smooth, lightly tacky, and comfortable to wear over the three and a half hours it lasted.

It's Just Like Honey

MAC It’s Just Like Honey Lipglass ($18.50 for 0.10 fl. oz.) is a medium, peachy orange with warm undertones and gold shimmer. It had semi-opaque color coverage that did not apply as evenly as I would have liked, and some of the color appeared milkier on the lips and pulled into lip lines noticeably. The texture was smooth, lightly tacky, and comfortable to wear, though, and the gloss lasted for four hours.

MAC Little Miss Monroe Lipglass ($18.50 for 0.10 fl. oz.) is a brighter, golden orange with warm undertones and fine, gold pearl. It is a lighter, brighter, and yellower version of It’s Just Like Honey. The consistency was smooth and spread well across the lips, while it had some tackiness. It had semi-sheer to medium coverage, which went on decently, but the texture/color did emphasize my lip lines. This shade lasted for four hours on me.
