MAC Jolly Good Mineralize Skinfinish Duo ($33.00 for 0.32 oz.) contains two shades, with one portion being a very larger, more bronzer-like shade and one being smaller and more highlighter-like. The major downside to this product was really the powderiness; the texture seemed silky and finely-milled, but I had great difficulty getting the powder to adhere to the skin. As I applied it, the powder would just sweep right back off the skin and into the air. The bronzer component was less problematic compared to the highlighter, which had a slightly chunkier texture. On the skin swatch, I could blow lightly on the skin, and over half of the powder would disappear.

Bronzer is described as a “light cool beige.” It is a light-medium, muted golden brown with a satin finish. The texture was finely-milled but quite powdery, which made application troublesome, as the powder would not stick to the skin. It didn’t seem like color payoff was a problem, just that the color you applied wouldn’t stay on the skin. This is a shade that is going to best show-up on fair skin tones. You can see that the “blended” swatch almost matches the color of my forearm, which is about NC20. The color being true-to-pan is what I look for; if it doesn’t show up on my skin tone due to the lightness of the color itself, that’s not something that impacts the rating, but if it doesn’t show up due to poor pigmentation, then that would be a problem. It seemed like wear lasted for about six hours, which isn’t much shorter than average with Mineralize Skinfinish products for me (they usually wear shorter than regular powder blushes do). Urban Decay Streak Bronzer (P) is warmer, more shimmery. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Highlighter is described as a “soft pale pink.” It’s a light, yellow-toned pink with gold sparkle. Again, the texture was powdery, and this section wasn’t as finely-milled. I had the same issues with this shade as I did with the Bronzer shade. I didn’t find that it emphasized pores, though not a lot of the product stays on the skin, which certainly helped! It gave a very subtle luminosity to the skin. I am of a medium complexion, so it didn’t add “color” to my skin tone, just shimmer, but if you are very fair, you might see a slight pink tinge. It lasted about six hours before starting to fade. bareMinerals The Many Splendors #2 (LE) is warmer. MAC Blonde (LE, $30.00) is darker.
