MAC Goddess of the Sea Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “dark vibrant violet [with a Cremesheen finish].” It’s a muted, medium-dark purpled berry with subtle, cool undertones and a soft, natural finish. Bite Beauty Burgundy (P, $28.00) is darker, brighter. MAC Romantically Inclined (LE, $16.00) is very similar. MAC Feel My Pulse (LE, $16.00) is brighter. It had mostly opaque color coverage, which applied evenly and smoothly without streaking or settling into lip lines. The consistency was lightly creamy but not heavy, so it is comfortable to wear and doesn’t feather over time. On me, this shade wore well for five hours and was just slightly drying. Unfortunately for me, Cremesheen lipsticks tend to be a little drying, but others find them hydrating. As is typical, it is vanilla-scented with no discernible taste. If you missed this when it launched on MAC’s website, the collection will still launch at other retailers next week and in-stores/at counters on the 22nd.
