MAC Give Me Liberty of London: Nail Lacquer Reviews, Photos, Swatches

I like the level of detail of the packaging, from the boxes to the print on the actual products. I just think it’s a nice touch–the attention to detail is reminiscent of past major launches like last year’s Hello Kitty, to put it in perspective. The nail lacquers both have the Liberty bird printed on the front of the bottle.

Nail Lacquer ($12.00 U.S. / $14.50 CDN)

  • Blue India is a dusty, muted dark gray-blue with a creamy finish. It goes opaque in about two coats, but three coats makes it perfect. This is a surprisingly flattering shade, because even though it’s distinctly blue, it doesn’t run too cool against my warmer skin tone.  This is definitely one of the better formulated shades I’ve come across from MAC in the past year.
  • Vestral White is a creamy white. It’s not an ultra bright white, though. I had trouble getting this one to look even, and I did try three coats to get it to the level shown in the swatches. Not a stellar formula on this one–a little runny, almost watery–and takes some patience to get a smooth, even look.

To be honest, I don’t. I have slight packrat tendencies, and one way I’ve learned to overcome some of those is by getting rid of stuff quickly, and that includes pretty packaging. As much as I’d love to keep it and tell myself, “I will find a way to re-use it!” I know I won’t (and I know I don’t have the time to). I might flatten one box and put it in my MAC media file for posterity, but usually, into the trash it goes before I have a chance to think about it!

didn’t vestral white come out with the hk collection? me no likey, it came out streaky for me but looks pretty good on you! maybe i’ll give it a second chance?

Yep, it did! It was streaky for me as well – really a tough nut to crack. I’d probably just buy a white in another brand, because in and of itself, not a super unique color — just white — you know?

I love the packaging and the blue polish looks nice too. I won’t be purchasing it though as I don’t use nailpolish at all often.

I’ve never purchased a MAC nail polish due to all their bad reviews on the weak formulas…. But maybe this will be my first one!! The colour is stunning!

Thanks Christine 🙂

I use Zoya’s Color Lock System with my MAC polishes and don’t have any problems. I find that the most trouble I have is really just in the application, where the formula isn’t as stellar as other major polish brands, but wear is never an issue for me!

My thoughts exactly! I never wanted to waste my money on MAC nail polish with bad reviews when I can spend it on a better MAC product, but I agree the color is stunning, quite different then anything I’ve seen.

Blue India is so gorgeous! I love dusty colors and have been excited about this one since I heard about the launch, so it’s definitely coming home with me! Everything about the packaging is just so fun and whimsical, and I am in love with the little bird on the bottle!

Blue India is gorgeous but I think I’m going to skip on Vestral White since I already have a plain white color from china glaze. It’s not really that special or unique of a color for me to buy it.

Is it lame to want these even more because of the packaging? I feel kind of blah about the colors overall but the birds are adoreable.

I think I’m love with Blue India!! ♥♥
I’ll have to buy it, and it’ll be real hard to wait for the French release in April… *sigh*

Blue India was on my need to get list- I put it on yesterday and I am very happy with it (after 2 coats- but that is normal for me and any nailpolish) The color is gorgeous- even my mother in law who is the exact opposite of me in terms of makeup/nail stuff (I’m always wearing something, even if just bronzer, and rarely do I not have polish on my nails-she’s completely opposite) like it too. I didn’t own anything like it nor had I seen anything like it and I’m a sucker for blue nailpolishes!
