I think it's important that one develops a healthy attitude towards the physical/exterior concept of beauty, but people mature at different ages, go through different experiences at different times. I think if it's someone very young, makeup as a creative outlet makes sense, and of course, young people experience things like acne and teasing. They should feel comfortable (and confident) using concealer or wearing a brighter lipstick if it helps restore some confidence as well.
