Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I answered 2-3 but forgot one so it’s actually 4-5.

1. Urban Decay optical blurring brush (the old style) for foundation
2. Crown Brush SS013 deluxe angled blush brush for blush
3. Sephora + Hakuho-do Ougi fan cheek brush for highlighters
4. Sephora Pro airbrush #55 for loose powder
5. Sephora + Hakuho-do Kusabi wedge sloping powder brush for pressed powder

Usually 7 — 8 if I use a foundation brush instead of my beauty blender
Concealer, Face Powder, Matte highlight, Bronzer, Contour, Blush, Shimmer highlight
Don’t see how I could manage with fewer, unless I was using all cream products

Setting powder, finishing powder, highlighting finishing powder, blush. I sometimes do actual highlighter, which is another — different — brush, but that’s pretty rare.

5 or 6 maybe?

Angle brush for eyebrows
Blending brush and eyeshadow brush for eyes
Blush brush

Maybe a stippling brush foundation or powder bush for face

One for my foundation, one for concealer, one for blush, one for highlighter and one for powder.

That seems like a lot written down but I’ve never really counted before and never thought I was using too many so there you go. ?

Depends on if I’m wearing a foundation/CC cream but if I am, I use a foundation brush for that (either the one from IT or Shiseido’s wonderful little foundation brush), a concealer brush, a MAC 224 to set with LM “Secret Whatever it’s called” powder, an angled blush brush and then, if I’m powdering over everything, a powder brush for that. So, if we’re talking strictly face (rather than including under-eye concealer also) it’s 2 to 3; if concealer is included in “Face/Cheeks”, then it’s 2 more.

1. Flat top kabuki to apply powder foundation OR a bigger, puffy powder brush to set liquid (which I apply using a sponge)
2. Contour brush (for my cheek contour, those flatter, oblong ones)
3. Blush brush to apply blush on the cheeks
4. Fan brush to apply highlighter to cheekbones and nose
5. (sometimes) Real Techniques contour brush for forehead contouring/bronzing.
