Under 5 minutes for “no makeup” eye makeup or a one shadow look. 6-15 minutes for a reasonably simple or practiced look that uses about 4 colors and some eyeliner–especially if we’re including eyebrows as eye makeup. Anything above 15 minutes is either a lot of different colors or something technically challenging.

I take longer than 45 minutes to do my makeup because I take my time on it. It’s my time in the morning to tell myself I am valuable and to enjoy my appearance, so I guess it’s how I meditate.

I’m not even embarrassed by how long it takes, I know a lot of people with anxiety do the same thing. πŸ™‚ And my partner never rushes me and he compliments how I look when it’s all done. It helps. πŸ™‚

Don’t feel embarrassed at all I liked your answer and feel the same. If my hubby walks him in my bathroom where I have and apply all my beauty potions I tell him Out! Go relax and watch t.v. this is my only precious time I get to myself and I enjoy it. πŸ™‚

I get up at 5 in the morning to have plenty of time for my makeup routine. My coffee and quiet time, no rush and leave the house by 7. It’s like meditation for me. God forbid that I would ever sleep in!

Probably only 15 minutes tops for a *simple* 3 shadow, liner, mascara look. But since I have a tendency to go a bit crazy with contouring my lids due to my hooded lids that are a flatter almond shape, more like 20 to 30 minutes on average! If I didn’t have to fake a crease, it wouldn’t be so long of a process.

Right now, prob only have time once a week. No wonder eye palettes aren’t appealing. When it was a one and done, or 2 color halo, 5-10. The more colors used, even if not β€˜colorful,’ the longer, esp if multiple liners and mascs, as well as shadow.

I chose “31-60 minutes” because if I’m wearing eyeshadow at all, it’s almost always because I’m doing an elaborate or very blending-heavy look. I rarely wear eye makeup to work, but if I did, it’d be mascara, which takes a few minutes.

If brows count towards “eye makeup,” I’d add anywhere between 3-10 minutes depending on products I’m using.

Once I have decided what palette and shades I am going to use, it usually only takes me about 5 or so minutes to apply them. I often start my morning makeup routine by applying mascara so that it is dry by the time I add my glasses to see the final effect.

I said 5 minutes or less. I’m pressed for time alot in the mornings and have some simple go tos that are quick, tried and true. I like to take my time with my whole evening/going out look when my schedule allows it. I can so relate to others comments about that being “me time”. It’s like a ritual of sorts.

Although I wear lightmajeuo since I’m pale and if I over do it with too much passion on my brushes I would end up looking like a clown! So I wear foundation, powder, eyebrow filler lightly, blush is my best friend not a dog (that’s totally wrong a dog been my best friend unless it makes me run and I end up blushing. I love doggies though and want a couple for Christmas don’t get me wrong but blush oh! Thank Gid it exists! πŸ˜‚). I usually spend from 5-15 minutes on eyeshadow application I find the most challenging but what difference it also makes! Blush, highliter and lips are easy and fast even foundation. But πŸ‘€πŸ‘πŸ‘€are a test!

Most of the time is spent measuring, drawing on, filling in, and shaping my brows though; my mother’s albinism gave me white (literally.) brows and lashes to go with my pale, freckled skin and ginger hair.
On a different note, microblading is really starting to sound appealing…

Keep up the good work! πŸ™‚

I voted 6-15 as for the past few years I’ve done a lot of “full liner and 2-4 shades of shadow” looks, but they rarely take me more than about 10 minutes to pull together (I assume we’re not including the time it takes to *make a decision* about what look I want to create … right?).

But right now I’m in a “test/try all my red lispticks” phase, and I’m sticking to MAC paint pot in Groundwork and brown mascara to pair with. One more week and I’ll be moving into a “test/try all my brown/russet lipsticks” phase, and at that point I’ll likely be switching to a single-color, medium-to-dark, subdued peachy or rose shadow until I’ve tried each of the lipsticks at least once (maybe ColourPop Brady, or possible Trois with a pink powder shadow layered over).

That sounds like such a great idea! I definitely need to do this to see if I can branch out more often and wear the more wacky colors in my collection, and also to talk me out of buying yet another pinky mauve lipstick!

I’ve gotten lazy over the years. I used to love experimenting with different eye shadows and eye looks. Now I just dust a bit of powder on my eyelids, draw on a simple winged liner and swipe on some mascara. The goal is to get out the door in 20 minutes after getting out of bed! Once a month, I’ll be inspired to do a bronze smokey eye for date night, but I usually prefer to put on a dramatic lip and call it a night πŸ™‚
