Discord — Let’s Chat!

First, I started a Discord for Temptalia, which is a real-time chatroom for readers to get to know each other, talk beauty, ask questions, and interact with the community (I’m there, too!). If you’ve used Skype chat before, you’ll easily get the hang of Discord, if you haven’t tried it before! You can chat using Discord through your web browser, as a desktop application (that you install), and/or on your mobile phone–it’s totally free.  (We’re not being paid to use, mention, or promote Discord.)

It’s a tool that is more popular in the gaming niche, but I thought it might be a great way to interact more closely with each other and work just as well in beauty! Swatch Gallery

We have revamped “By Formula” to be “By Product.” The search is much more free-for-all, so you can find a swatch for a single product (like MAC Ruby Woo), all swatches from a formula (like MAC Lipstick), or swatches for a single palette (like Anastasia Modern Renaissance).

Expanded User Profiles

Save your foundation shades to your profile!

If you’re a registered user (and if you’re not, join our community!), we have extended the information you can save to your profile in three ways (all optional). You can update your information by going to your user menu and selecting “profile.”

• Social media: in addition to linking to your blog and YouTube channel, you can also add your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr channels
• Save your foundations: add your shade matches directly on your profile, where they get saved (and pre-loaded into the Matrix, though you can always remove/change them on the fly)
• Save your favorite brands: add your favorite brands to your profile — we hope to offer future customization/personalization of your experience, so knowing the brands you’re most interested in helps us a lot!

Looks Revamp

Find a Look!

We’ve improved the overall look (ha, ha) and feel of the Community landing page by introducing Find a Look, which lets you search for looks by tags, color, type, and time. We also added thumbnails to product lists in looks (so you’ll see the product’s photo if we have it).

Looks are now able to be featured on the actual blog, as I heard from some readers that they missed my looks or did not know where to find them, so I’ll be sharing more of mine that way but will also feature members’ looks from time to time!

Search

Improved search results (when searching from the navigation)

This has been updated for a couple of months but never formally announced! When you do a search on the blog, we updated the way search results display. Now, you can select a specific shade from the search result for a product, view swatches, and get dupes. You can also limit your search to blog posts or products (or keep it searching through everything).
