Guerlain Terra Azzurra Bronzer & Blush Review, Photos, Swatches

Guerlain Terra Azzurra Bronzer & Blush

Guerlain Terra Azzurra Bronzer & Blush ($75.00 for 0.56 oz.) is made up of half bronzer and half blush. The collection is a collaboration with Emilio Pucci, and the print chosen was “Winter Capri.” I really liked that Guerlain changed up the compact’s cloth case, and it’s a very appropriate print for summer. It’s bold, vibrant, but has that summery, beachy breeze feel. It’s definitely more interesting than the velvety pouches we typically see.

Inside, there are four distinct shades, with over half of the compact made up of an orange-tinted tan with a very subtle satiny sheen. MAC Tan Tint is a little yellower. MAC Cajun is similar but more golden, less red-toned. MAC Sun Power is pretty similar, though a tad rustier. MAC Pink Power is similar. Urban Decay Toasted is also very similar. The bronzer seems fairly easy to replicate, and it does have subtle orange and red undertones.

The other three shades make up the other half (or less) of the compact. The first is a pale pink-white that really didn’t deposit much color, just shimmer. It was nearly imperceptible when I swatched it. Next to that is a medium pink with subtle blue undertones. Between the pink and the bronzer, there is a muted orange. These shades are done in a thin swirl, so they’re not particularly usable individually, though the bronzer could be used on its own.

When you mix the three blush shades, you’ll get a more coral-pink kind of color, and when you mix all four shades together, you get a tangerine-coral with a satiny sheen. Β Becca Damselfly is similar but less pigmented and more golden in sheen. MAC My Paradise is more orange, more gold shimmered. Make Up For Ever #153 has a stronger golden sheen. It actually reminded me of MAC Ripe Peach quite a bit.

As expected, the texture is soft and smooth–very finely-milled–but not too dense, so it doesn’t feel powdery or kick-up excess product when you tap your brush against the surface. It blends out easily once applied, but it doesn’t fade away into nothing, so it’s well-balanced. When I tested out the wear, it wore well for around seven hours and looked slightly faded around the edges after eight hours. This powder is heavily fragranced with a floral scent, so if you are sensitive to scents, I recommend checking it out in person or finding a way to de-scent the powder. I had it open on my studio table, and I could catch whiffs of the fragrance from a foot away–the scent, of course, is not nearly as noticeable when it’s applied as it is in the compact.

Wasn’t this collection LE? It doesn’t make a difference for me though, since it won’t be able internationally:/ Too bad that I loved everything about this.
By the way,I really like the full face shots with the new lighting. You look really great in this particular one,the earrings and eye makeup looks cool together:)

I just wanted to post something Guerlain related but not about this particular blush. I clicked on your Nordstrom link and saw that they have the Guerlain Meteorites Cruel Gardenia Pressed Powder back on sale. The appoximate ship date is April 13th. I thought I was not seeing right for a second. Just wondering if you saw it also? Exciting!

If you still read this: it’s very nice, packaging is gorgeous, to me it applies the same as the regular meteorites perles, has the same violet scene and basically just give your face a little something extra

This looks very promising! Guerlain is my weakness. I didn’t buy the Sun in the City to save for this one, do you think I can pull off this one, Christine? I’m nw15 with neutral undertones. I think I would use this mostly all the colours mixed as a blush, and maybe a bit of bronzer for contouring? Could that work for me?
Thanks for the great swatches and comparisons, and I wanted to add that I really love your reviews and your opinion is very much appreciated πŸ™‚

Oof. Now do I get this or the cream blushes. I wonder how it would compare to the Edward Bess Monte Carlo highlighter I just bought…

Christine are you reviewing anything else from this collection by chance? Also thanks for the reply πŸ™‚

ARGH! Guerlain why do you do this to me?! LOL! I was REALLY excited about this product when I saw the announcement for it, but that perfume… Ugh. Their foundations actually make my skin heat up and turn red! I don’t know if it’s the customers’ demand or not but it’s always bothered me that high-end brands think everything they release has to smell like a perfume counter. FAR too much of a pointless – and potentially skin damaging – ingredient. Blerg!

Looks pretty though. LOL

Omg, this suits you to a T here. I mean you look perfect with it!! Was wondering, do you think I would look nice with it? I use Guerlain’s Lingerie foundation no23, I am an Indian girl with a yellow undertone to my skin but I am not dark, I have olive skin. Thanks Christine! πŸ˜€

I got to see this at the bay and omg soo pretty but she didn’t have it in stock yet so I ended up just buying the meteorites perles from the collection

Honestly, I just want it for the packaging and looks because I have a million blushes and bronzers but I really wish there were no orangey/red tones because then I could easily justify the price tag..

Wow! I cant believe that shade came out from all of those colors especially with a tan bronzer?? really??
Oh! Its lovely!! If only it wasnt that expensive! πŸ™

ps: Christine you looked blooming in here! πŸ˜‰

No – I’ve always had a ton of hair, lol. The ceiling fan may have been on so maybe that’s it? I’ve always been told by hairdressers (literally, every single one has made the comment to some effect) that I have enough hair for two people.

I just got it from sephora.com. I am struggling with which brush to use. I tried stippling brush, big full blush brush and either of them apply this blush perfectly (either too light or too heavy). Any suggestions?

Β @newyorkcandygalOpps I did something wrong and send a reply without any text πŸ™‚ For well-pigmented blushes, I recommend using angled blush brush by Lumiere Cosmetics, it gives very natural and “gradient” effect to my skin. The quality of the brush isn’t particularly high, so you can replace it with any other long duo fibre brush πŸ™‚ I hope itΒ  helps!

Dangit, I want it sooo bad :/ I don’t know if it would suit me or not (I’m probably the warm type, with some yellow and a little bit of peachy undertones, but my hair is golden-coloured atm, so I’m a bit scared of any orange shades on my cheeks…).
