Guerlain Attrape-Coeur (171) Rouge Automatique Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “spicy, cheerful pink.” It’s a vibrant, coral-pink with warm undertones and a luminous sheen. Chanel Melodieuse (136) (P, $34.00) is slightly darker. Too Faced Bon Bon (P, $21.00) is glossier, slightly warmer. Givenchy Magnolia Organza (301) (P, $36.00) is darker. This is a new and limited shade from Guerlain’s spring collection. It’s a very pink-leaning coral, so cooler-toned complexions may really gravitate towards it as it shouldn’t turn orange on them. The consistency was lightweight, moderately creamy, and it applied evenly over the lips. It almost melted as it glided over the lips, as the color looked very smooth when worn–lips just looked nicer and healthier. The texture did seem slightly more emollient than some of the other shades in the Rouge Automatique, and it seemed to result in shorter wear of just shy of five hours (it’s a more long-wearing formula–some shades wear for as long as eight hours on me). The color coverage was opaque, and this was a very comfortable shade to wear as it was nicely hydrating both while I wore and the hydration lasted as it wore away.
