Launching this August at Bergdorf Goodman/Neiman Marcus and later on in September at Nordstrom, Sephora, Saks, Dillards, and Bloomingdale’s, Guerlain KissKiss Lipstick ($37.00 for 0.12 oz.) introduces twenty-five shades in its reformulation. The updated formula is supposed to have a “lip-shaping and plumping effect” from hyaluronic acid spheres and “incredibl[e] hydration” with a “fine, even, and rich creamy texture … with impeccable hold.” So far, my experience with these is that they’re a lightweight, very creamy and fairly emollient/slippery formula that’s lightly hydrating and gives lips a smoother appearance. I find that they have more color and less slip compared to Shine Automatiques but more slip and shine than Rouge Automatiques. They’re lighter-weight, more emollient, and less hydrating than Rouge Gs. They wear longer than Shine Automatiques but shorter than Rouge Automatiques and Rouge Gs. If you like the shine and shimmer of the Shine Automatique range but want more color coverage, then this might be the right formula for you. If you prefer the wear and hold of Rouge Gs, this formula is noticeably different. The lipsticks are violet-scented but have no discernible taste.

Guerlain Air Kiss (304) KissKiss Lipstick ($37.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a softened, medium-dark plum with subtle warm undertones and pink and gold shimmer. It had mostly opaque color coverage that felt and looked lightweight and had a glossy shine. I can feel the shimmer slightly when I apply the lipstick, but the color goes on evenly and smoothly. I don’t notice the shimmer in it once on until after three hours of wear. It lasts for four hours on me when I tested it. Estee Lauder Decadent (150) (P, $30.00) is darker, less shimmery. Tom Ford Beauty Bittersweet (03) (LE, $49.00) is slightly warmer. Bobbi Brown Plum Shimmer (3) (P, $25.00) is similar. Chanel Scenario (P, $34.00) is warmer. MAC One of a Kind (LE, $16.00) is sheerer. Giorgio Armani #526 (P, $32.00) is pinker, lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Guerlain KissKiss Lipstick ($37.00 for 0.12 oz.) is is a light-medium, rosy pink with neutral-to-cool undertones. Against my warmer skin tone, it tends to pull neutral-to-warm, but in the tube and swatched, it has a very subtle cool-ish cast to me. It had mostly opaque color coverage that went on evenly for the most part. The consistency was nicely creamy but not too slippery, so it stayed in place well. It wore well for four hours and was lightly hydrating. Estee Lauder Dynamic (P, $30.00) is brighter, warmer. YSL Corail Jalouse (32) (P, $34.00) is lighter. Givenchy Rose d’Exception (206) (LE, $36.00) is darker. Urban Decay Naked (P, $22.00) is similar. NYX Blush (P, $4.00) is slightly warmer. MAC Flamingo (P, $16.00) is warmer.
