I tried this collection out at Macy’s where I work and I felt that the shadows in this collection where very pigmented and pretty however after a few hours they blended together on the lid and all gave a uniform shimmery bronze effect. The fragrance in the collection smell great!

I wasn’t big into the single shadows being $24 each but for Pure Color Five Color Gelee Powder Eyeshadow Palette at $45US I’m in for it. I really loved the formula and there are so many awesome shades in this palette along with the new MAC Dimension shadows coming out this summer/spring I’m going to have some interesting eyeshadows to play with. 🙂

Shimmering Sands looks so pretty but I get the feeling it would look awful on my fair completion.

EVERY make up brand that is sold in China has to comply with those rules, Chinese law requires animal testing (as needed) to sell make up. So if it’s sold in China, it’s tested on animals or was at some point.

Estee Lauder and Avon agreed without complaint to the Chinese rules where at least Mary Kay is trying to get them to accept their cruelty-free testing. Estee Lauder could set a global standard by saying no thanks to the Chinese market unless they accept standards that most of the world accepts as proper testing. This is giving in to the almighty buck. They will alienate a lot of loyal customers in the process. A quick look at EL’s Facebook page tells you that.

Nothing beats that first Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelee… an I’m still kicking myself that I didn’t get it but I did purchase the one from the topaz collection… I will purchase this one too… I really wish I could get the one from the first collection!

WHERE IS THE ORIGINAL BRONZE GODDESS FRAGRANCE! I buy one and a body oil every year…… OH EM GEE I will be super sad if they dont release it again. It’s my signature! Good thing I still have 1 3/4 bottles left!

Thanks, Luka, for the heads up. It is true that Estee Lauder has reinstated animal testing for the sake of the Chinese market. I just called their global headquarters and essentially “pitched a fit.” It is a press release on PETA’s site that not only lists EL, but Avon and Mary Kay as well. While those last two companies are no big loss for me, not being able to buy from all the EL companies (like MAC and Bobbi Brown) hits me hard. Oh, well, that means focusing on those companies that really do care about humane corporate standards.

That sucks- I ordered some products last night not knowing about the change in policy! EL is such a large company and many of my faves are a part of it: MAC, Bobbi Brown, origins, clinique, aveda, tom ford, and la mer. Oh well, I guess I will have to buy elsewhere 🙁

What a beautiful collection for summer. Seems like they are releasing it earlier than usual this year? I went ahead and ordered from the EL website because for some reason I couldn’t find the nail polish on the Nordstrom’s website. Thanks for the heads up Christine, it’s beautiful!

I just bought the Illuminating Powder Gelee in Topaz Chameleon and the gold gloss (spring collection I think) about 2 weeks ago and now a new gelee and gold gloss! Hmm. Not sure I need them although they look nice. I really am enjoying the gelee so I just might cave on that. I also bought the 5 color eyeshadow but I haven’t really used it yet. This one looks nice though. I have the oringinal Bronze Goddess fragrance and I really like it. I wonder how this one compares. I will have to check it out soon. I wish I had realized it was out. I was just at Nordstrom last night and I didn’t notice it.

I too missed the 1st modern mercury powder, but I purchased the topaz gelded when it first came out & I ordered the shimmering sands shade last night from Nordstrom as soon as I saw Christine’s post- I think it looks gorgeous & I cant wait to get it in the mail! Thanks Christine 🙂

I just ordered the shimmering sands powder gelee! I missed out on the modern mercury highlighter that was soooo pretty. I almost ordered the eyeshadow palette too but decided to wait.

I am loving this new collection. I never purchase Estee lauder makeup but when I went to the Macy’s counter to get my night serum I saw the Illuminating Pwder and swatched it… I was instantly in love. Although I didnt buy it, I sure plan too! I’m a NW35 in MAC and this powder goes very nice with my skintone. It def very pigmented so you do have to use a light hand. I have oily t-zone so not sure how well this will play out on me. But I forward to finding out!!
