I only use them one at a time (meaning I don’t use more than one eye primer in a single eye look) but I have probably 5 or 6 e/s primers, and that’s not counting cream or pencil shadows that also work as primers to prevent creasing and enhance the shadow colours.

Not really. I’m not about hoarding certain products. Primers, concealers, foundations, powders are items I try to keep minimal and I use up what I have before buying another. Right now I have MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre. I do own Painterly and I’ll use that if I’m wearing more mauvey tones but that’s it. I mostly use Soft Ochre though. I really want to buy the Milani one again but I’m not until I use up Soft Ochre

I have been back and forth about buying a MAC Paint Pot to use as a primer. People rave about it so much, but I’m reluctant to spend the money. (Plus, I’ve hoarded about five backups of the NYX primer I use every day.)

HI Seraphine! Hope you do not mind me sharing my experience with MAC Paint Pots and (a bonus ๐Ÿ™‚ ) with Fluidlines. They last without going dry for a few years and a little goes a very long way. So, if spending money is the only obstacle, I am confident you will get your money’s worth.

1. I always use NYX Proof It Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer under eyeshadow and brow products.

2. I occasionally use Smashbox Photo Finish Under Eye Primer under my concealer, but only if the area feels really dry. I only need a little drop of it for each eye, so the tube is lasting a long time (also because I don’t use it every day).

3. Because I have hooded eyes, if I’m using a shimmer shadow on my lids, I use another primer both under it AND lightly dotted on top of it to keep it from transferring up. I’ve been using NYX Glitter Glue, which works well, but it’s a little thick. I recently saw a review on YouTube that recommended MAC Mixing Medium Eyeliner for the same purpose, so I am trying it out for the first time today. The consistency was easier to work with than the Glitter Glue, and it’s now been four hours since application using MAC Mixing Medium, and no shimmer transfer at all!

I do because I bought the Wet n Wild eye primer but didnโ€™t like how shadows blended over it. But I do like to use it on days when I donโ€™t wear any eyeshadow because it keeps my super oily eyelids matte all day. On days when I wear eyeshadow I like to use the Milani eye primer.

I just have one primer (silicon based are my preferred formula), works fine for me on any eye looks. And I thrash it 1 year after opening and most time is still one half or one third full even after a daily use. ๐Ÿ˜†

Regulary? Hmm, I don’t think so. Although I presently have around 4-5 opened e/s primers, I only really bother using 2 of them because they don’t exacerbate my eyes tearing, plus both hold up halfway decent when my allergies strike. Nyx Proof It! is a miracle worker for that. Also, Nyx Glitter Primer keeps any fallout prone eyeshadow in place all day long.

No. I have a couple I’m working through that I picked up for one reason or another at the time. But I use them interchangeably.

Yes! I’m currently rotating between Milani, TFSI and Morphe on the reg and I have UD Eden and a tinted Smashbox one also open but I don’t like them much. I’m having trouble with my inner corners creasing even though I let my primer settle for more than a minute so if anyone has any suggestions or tips, I’m open to hearing them! ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes. Some primers work better with some shadows. I never use cream primers that don’t dry down, though, because they crease on me. Too Faced Shadow Insurance, Urban Decay Primer Potion in Enigma, Too Faced Glitter Glue, and e.l.f. Glitter Primer are all used regularly.

TFSI works the best on me. It’s just a little bit better than UDPP, so while most days I use them interchangeably, I always use TFSI for special occasions or really hot days.

No, I just use one all over primer – Nude by Nature’s Airbrush primer and it’s suitable for eyes as well as your face. It’s a good one and I have never strayed.

I have been using Tarte Shape Tape as an eyeshadow primer and it really makes my shadows color come through and last forever.

I have so many different eye primers I don’t know why !! I hoard them and always compare what makes my eye looks last longer. I also collect them as well , yet most of the time I can never tell the difference.

I have a couple for just eyes from WetnWild, two different Rimmel ones for entire face and also free m Nyx but firgetctk use them. I have a feeling they brake me out the few times I have used them on face thatโ€™s why I keep avoiding them but can wear on eyes only so is ok.
For your ๐Ÿ‘€ only as that song goes. ๐Ÿ™‚

This is doubling up on eye primers trick was something I learned from you and it was SO vital for me. About 5 years ago my eyeshadows started creasing like mad on me even though I had been using the same primer as always. It was like my eyes got used to it or something. So I started doubling up after reading a comment on your blog ages ago. I do find I’m now almost back in the same situation as before as my eyes are “getting used to” the two primers and I’ve started to get more creasing. It’s driving me a bit bananas to be honest – eyeshadow is my favourite thing in makeup. So all this to say – thank you for the original tip, now can you recommend your favourite primers? I’d be curious to try out what you use and see if it rectifies the problem I’m having now. Thank you!
