They’re amazing for playing with color (and are probably great for professionals), but I always have to reapply my lipstick throughout the day… no way do I want to have to carry a whole palette with me!

They’re *okay* for playing with some less commonly used shades, I suppose. Haven’t owned one in years, though. Because they really do get messy and yucky. Almost did buy one by UD this winter, but never felt 110% convinced that I needed or even wanted it as badly as I believed I did when it released.

I’ve had a few which were gift with purchase and never used them. I prefer a bullet. It fits in my handbag and is easy to touch up on the run.

I never owned one until I got the Urban Decay Blackmail palette last fall. I love all the colors but it’s so impractical for reapplication! I ended up actually buying one color outright (1993) because I knew I’d use it all the time, and will probably end up with at least two others out of the palette – but will I actually use up the palette itself? Doubt it.

I am pretty sure I like the idea of them far better than I actually like them. I own two large-ish lip palettes and use them almost never. I pretty much just enjoy looking at them but with the added guilt that this just reminds me how I never use them.

It’s just so much easier to take a tube and throw it in a purse!

I hate them…there is something luxurious about being able to apply lipstick from the tube to your lips. It’s part of the lipstick experience, in my opinion anyway. I can see the use for a MUA though. But for this gal, I’m a sucker for applying straight from the tube!

I love the ones I create myself.

What I would REALLY LOVE is for UD to come up with a Vice palette that would be comprised of ALL the Vice shades in small amounts, using tiny pans. This would allow sampling the whole line at a reasonable price.

Not really. I find that lipsticks get contaminated by dust, cat hair, etc, very quickly because the palettes are generally not airtight. That also causes the lipstick formula to harden or go bad much faster than a regular tube. I’ve had to throw away a Nars lip palette a while back cause it smelled funky – never happened to me with a classic lipstick tube.

It’s not that I don’t like lip palettes. Who doesn’t love lipstick and having options? I just find lip palettes impractical and messy. I’m no makeup artist and they are just big for me to carry with me daily as well as I’m not going to carry a messy lip brush in my bag either. Bc I cannot carry it with me for touch ups, a palette would just sit there and be a big waste of money!

I hate lipstick palettes. It’s rare that more than 1 shade in a set will even suit me, and I do not like applying my lipstick with a lipbrush so the packaging doesn’t work for me. Plus they’re just messy. The only upside I can see if that palettes would allow makeup artists to carry more lip colors in their kit without taking up much space, but I don’t see the appeal for a regular consumer.

They’re just not for me. I don’t have time or patience to deal with lip brushes and they’re always a pain to get product out of completely, so I prefer to just apply lip products from the bullet or applicator they come with. 😛

I don’t own one, and the only one I’ve ever been tempted by is the recent Anastasia one, but I can’t justify it, it’s just interesting looking.

I never purchased a lip palette, I have some lipstick shades on a palette that is mostly eye-shadows but I never used them. They are all dirty with the shadow powder and I don’t even like the colors.
Once I got a small palette from Clinique as a sample and I used it a bit as it was small enough to carry. But I’m not patient enough to apply lipstick with a brush and I purchased the tube version of the colors I like from that palette (maybe it was their intention anyway).
