Dior Grand Bal Collection for Holiday 2012

Dior Grand Bal Collection for Holiday 2012

“Now that cinderella’s fairy godmother no longer exists, the couturier must be the magician,” said Christian Dior. From Monsieur Dior’s extravagant parties in Granville, his childhood home, to the Parisian balls of the Roaring Twenties, the couturier was profoundly fascinated by the transformative qualities of the ball gown and the fantasy of a fabulous fete. Now, Dior debuts a makeup collection inspired by Dior’s love for entertaining: the limited edition Palette Grand Bal, four new shades of Diorific, Dior’s most haute couture lipstick, two shades of Ultra-Gloss, and four new shades of Dior Vernis.

Palette Grand Bal Carnet de Maquillage ($85.00) (Limited Edition)

Inspired by the dance cards held by young women in the 18th-century to help keep track of their dance partners, this essential beauty kit is bound to be a must-have for the modern day party girl. The glamorous gold clutch features a pearl eyeshadow duo of platinum and gold, two shades of gloss, a mirror, and deep black eyeliner for quick touch-ups.

Dior Expert Lip Palette ($62.00) (Limited Edition)

The perfect rosy pink lip is just a few steps away with this ingenious palette. Prep the lips of Creme de Rose, mix and match three complementary shades of pink Rouge Dior lipstick, fill in with a pink mini lip liner and finish off with a boost of Dior Lip Maximizer.

Dior Holiday Mini Brush Set ($62.00) (Limited Edition)

Back for the holiday is a Dior favorite: the mini brush set. This chic, sleek patent case unfolds to reveal a powder brush, cheek brush, eyeshadow brush, and lip brush.

Dior Manicure Essentials Set ($62.00) (Limited Edition)

Housed in a classic black case, the Dior Manicure Essentials Set features all of Dior’s manicure must-haves: Mini Vernis Pelline Cuticle Remover, Mini Vernis Base Coat, Mini Vernis Top Coat, and a full size Creme Abricot. Orange wood cuticle sticks and a nail file round out this travel-friendly kit.

Golden Tattoos ($120.00) (Limited Edition)

From the early years of his career, Christian Dior was fascinated by gold and its mysterious powers. It wasn’t long before gold became a refined signature of the house and Dior’s most magnificent couture outfits were adorned with gold accessories. Now, Camille Miceli, Dior’s creative director of costume jewelry, has created a limited edition set of Golden Tattoos, comprised of 24-karat gold micro particles that melt onto the skin. The set includes seven exclusive designs: two wrist chains, a Dior Dollisimio charm, pearl drop charm with the Christian Dior logo, three rings, and a Line A interlaced bangles.

Grand Bal Lashes ($28.00) (Limited Edition)

Grand Bal Lashes are available in deep black or vibrant gold. Pearl Drops are available with silver pearl drops or soft gold.

The Dior Holiday collections are always so pretty. I stopped buying them the last 2 years or so ago because the wallet just can’t handle it anymore. Congrats to all the ladies who get to own these items and enjoy them!

The quints and eyelashes look stunning! These eyeshadow quints may be my first Dior eyeshadow purchase! I’m really hoping you do a review in them. The lashes look interesting, but not worth $28.

I am so excited for this collection. The nail polish bottles are so cute. I will say that I don’t even care how it performs. It’s pretty much for show. However, I hope the compact works well though, I would love to be able to rationale that buy too.

I love the Rouge Dior formula, so the Rouge Diorific lipstick is piquing my interest. So is the lip palette except I hate products you have to apply with a brush. I’ll have to see what it’s like and check reviews on it.

I am over the moon that they brought back this nail polish packaging. It is the lushest thing and so pretty. I saved an old red – my perfect red – in this bottle even though it’s too goofy to use. Yay, Dior!

I hope you get the chance to review these before I start buying them. I need something to stop me from buying most of this lot lol They look so gorgeous.

Ohhhh! It’s all so shiny, sparkly and golden. I’m not sure the shades are really for me for much of it, but it’s so sparkly, it’s hard not to want to stroke the screen! I feel like an OCD squirrel seeing some really pretty nuts that I know aren’t good for me! I’ll definitely have to wait for reviews. I really like the Diorific lipsticks I have but they are the old formula I think, so I’m intrigued to see what that fuschia lipstick will be like. Also, the chubby round nail varnishes are adorable.

Well, I am going to be getting everything from this collection it seems. I do not want to 24k gold tattoos or the manicure and brush sets. What I am after are the NAIL POLISHES! I have never seen a more beautiful bottle, ever, for polish. They are going to have a special place on my makeup table. Thanks Christine for posting this!

OMFG… This is the sexiest collection I’ve seen! One of the eyeshadow quints looks like a cool toned Golden Savannah, but the other one must be mine. And the studded lashes… And that gold flecked black polish… And maybe a lipstick, lip gloss, and the lip palette… Yeah I’m screwed.

At first glance, I felt quite underwhelmed by the collection–but as I really studied the photos and read the descriptions, I became more and more entranced. I don’t feel like I *love* the polish shades, but I still REALLY want them because of the fabulous, vintagey bottles. Ditto with the lipsticks!

I had the chance to play with this collection a couple of weeks ago during a Dior training. The eye shadow quints are to die for. They are super smooth and pigmented. They’re too beautiful to describe. Time to start putting money aside for this collection. I’ll definitely be buying the two quints and the two glosses.

The golden tattoos are a… Joke? I know Chanel did logo temporary tattoos a few seasons ago and it just seems so…wasteful? Pre teen? Ridiculous? Oye.

The old packaging is back?? Well, in that case, can they also please bring back the packaging from the plastic shine series? The little amphoras of glossy, liquid, lipsticks were so charming and elegant. Probably the only item I purchased because I was more enchanted by the presentation than by the product.

I am thrilled to see the Diorific Vernis come out again. I still have 2 bottles of it from the 90’s when they were permanent, it would also be brilliant to see the Diorific Plastic Shine come out again, I loved it and it was really like your lips were covered in vynyl….the bottles were amazing as well!

O.M.G. Dior how I already love you but I’ve been waiting for you to really dazzle me! this collection is beyond gorgeous! I will get all of it except the eyeshadows!!

I talked to my Dior counter manager at Macy’s, and she showed me the collection sheet that she got. My Macy’s is only getting the 4 polish, 4 lipstick, eye palette, lip palette, manicure set, grand bal palette, and brush set. Do you know if this differs from store to store, or if some of it is not being released in the US, or if some is Sephora/Nordstrom/ etc. exclusive?? I’ll be so disappointed to not get the items I want!

I own the lame gold lipgloss and the starproduct. I love them both. But pricewise I think the starproduct is way too expencive. But the eyeshadow is beautiful and espesially in fake lighting.Than it really sparkles. The lipglosses inside the pallet is not that great. The eyepencil that goes with it is fun becouse is closes your grandbal(book)eyeshadow pallet. I really like the lamegold lipglos. And on top of macs ruby woo it is stunning when it catches the light.
