Dior Cruise (230) Diorshow Mono Eyeshadow Review, Photos, Swatches
Dior Cruise (230) Diorshow Mono Eyeshadow
Dior Cruise (230) Diorshow Mono Eyeshadow ($29.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a pale aqua blue with a frosted finish. Cinderella Glass Slipper is bluer. Dior Swimming Pool #4 is similar but bluer. bareMinerals Illusion is darker. Giorgio Armani #10 is more metallic. MAC Sky Blue is darker. Inglot #367 is matte.
The texture is soft and finely-milled, but it is also on the powdery side. My larger issue with it was the weak color payoff–no matter whether it was used wet or dry, because it looked the same both ways–and that it was sheer at all stages. I tried to layer and build up the color to no avail. The formula can be used both dry as well as wet, but I really didn’t notice any difference in finish or intensity when I used it wet. When applied with a damp brush, what I did find was that it stayed on better; I was able to see eight hours without creasing or fading (though it was always sheer). When applied dry, it had disappeared by eight hours. At present, this shade is exclusive to Saks and Dior.com.

$30 for no pigment? I hope no one wastes their money on this one!!
High End brands do produce alot of duds like this one….just trying to sell something with their name on it.
That was my *exact* thought… I’m finding more & more appeal in the “mainstays” of most makeup brands, and I’d rather invest my focus (and money) in those items. LE products really don’t get a second thought from me, not only because I hate tracking something down, but more so because the quality usually isn’t there.
When I see this type of blue eye shadow, I always think it’s what was being referred to in the book “Blue Eyeshadow Should Be Illegal” (even if it were better quality).
It reminds me of the shadow that my grandmother wore in the late 70s/early 80s…only that was cream-based so it was even worse LOL.
Most mono Dior eyeshadows are of poor quality, 27 € each, I much prefer Dior 5 couleurs, especially the spring and summer 2012 ones. I love ” Swimming Pool ” it’s very subtle ( I remember you didn’t find it was good ), ” Aurora ” and ” Garden Roses ” “Garden Pastels ” which are so beautiful. I also have Chérie Bow ” Rose Charmeuse ” and 2 other very pretty quints, I don’t understand why Dior launched bad mono eyeshadows, only the packaging is pretty but pigments ? I don’t see manu in the mono formula !
It’s so sheer it’s almost invisible. Total waste of money.
For those who may be interested in a shade like this, from swatches I’ve seen online, NARS is introducing a single shadow for Summer 2013, which should be out in 2 weeks; from what I’ve seen, it looks similar, and very pigmented.
My god….i only save the packaging LOL
i could get a grocery bag full of drugstore products for that price…….and ten time the quality>>>>
what a joke, lol
