Dior Ambre Nuit (746) Eyeshadow Palette ($62.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a set of warm-toned neutrals that ranges from frosted peach to deepened bronzy brown. The colors are dupable, and you can certainly find better-performing neutral palettes on the market given how many are available, but at least this did better than most of Dior’s palettes have in the last couple of years. The trouble showed up primarily during application, as the drier texture proved more difficult to work with for blending and getting color to adhere evenly and smoothly to bare skin. This one should work well enough over a primer if you typically wear one.

Ambre Nuit #1 is a light-medium peach with a warm, gold shimmer-sheen finish. It had so-so color payoff with a powdery, somewhat dry texture that didn’t apply well to the skin and tended to emphasize the skin’s texture. It lasted for six hours on me before fading. It had good pigmentation with a lightly dry, dusty consistency that tended to sheer out when applied to bare skin, so it would greatly benefit from some sort of base to help it cling better.
