Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe Nail Lacquer Review, Photos, Swatches

It’s Blue, It’s Green, It’s Teal… It’s All Three!

Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe Nail Lacquer ($18.00 for 0.5 oz.) is a deep, inky navy blue jelly base with electric blue glitter and teal and green hexagonal glitter.  I wasn’t quite able to get an opaque with three coats, but perhaps with a fourth coat or just a more precise application, it could get there.  I like the way the glitter is mixed in color, because it gives it a very interesting effect.  I feel like I haven’t seen a shade quite like this, which is often true of many Lippmann shades, just because of the way the glitter is used.  Application was smooth overall, but remember to wait for each coat to dry so that you don’t pull the glitter out of place.

I have this color- I snagged the last bottle at the Nordstrom sale! I have about 100 bottles of nail polish, and this one is my absolute favorite. I am a huge fan of jelly finishes, and the big chunky glitter is just amazing.

I get SO many compliments whenever I wear Across the Universe!

What color would u compare the actual nail polish to (minus the hexagonal glitter)? I’m actually just interested the flat royal blue/navy color. Like, a navy blue, but a bit closer to cobalt blue, I guess? Any recommendations? I’m icy about large chunks of glitter, although they look quite beautiful on your nails :3

This polish looks lovely! I was excited to see you were doing reviews of lippman polishes. Do you have any plans to look at any other colors? Thanks in advance!

I actually watched Across the Universe this weekend! I hate glitter nailpolish the only one I will use is Mad as a hatter by opi and I keep it to one finger so it just peels off by itself. It takes way to long to remove. This is so pretty though, like Baby said, like space in a bottle. Really expensive for a nailpolish though.

omg! i love that polish… it looks like it’s name, looking deep into space across the universe. 😀 i would totally get it but the price is too steep for me.

How does this glitter polish wear and how easy does it come off when you want it to? Did it make a huge blue mess out of your cuticles and hands when removing it?

Love it; blue and green = teal, which is my favourite colour. And hexagons are my favourite shape as it’s special to me. And I love dark nail polishes. This is a nice one, wish I could get it here!

I got this and Bad Romance a few weeks ago and loved it! I thought the mixture of glitter types and sizes (small, round and big, hexagonal) really gave the polish some neat dimensionality on the nail. 🙂

This is one of my favorite nail polish ever! It makes me happier! although it needs a lot of hard work to remove, but I love this. Even my boss notice it and called it ‘spectacular’.

I just got this today! Love love love. I also wanted Happy Birthday, but I didn’t have the money since I’m saving up for a camera- thank goodness my school graduation’s coming around soon… It has been hinted that Happy Birthday will be stuck in with a bunch of the other presents.
But seriously, I love this! Two coats and BAM! You have what looks like a ocean/ earth painted on your nails! It really is beautiful! 🙂

I love this shade! Whenever I wear this, or Bad Romance, I put it over a coat of cheap navy or black polish first. That way I can save a bit of them, since they’re so pricey!
