Clarins Grenadine (05) Gloss Prodige Lipgloss Review, Photos, Swatches

Add a Splash of Grenadine to Your Pout

Clarins Grenadine (05) Gloss Prodige Lipgloss ($20.00 for 0.19 oz.) is a warm, strawberry pink with gold shimmer. MAC Forever Rose is less pink, more coral, has no shimmer. MAC Star Quality is lighter and has no shimmer. Revlon Strawberry is a touch redder and doesn’t have gold shimmer (but has white and pink sparkle). MAC Galaxy Rose is a bit darker and doesn’t have the same shimmer.

Gloss Prodige is supposed to have “intense color, mirror-like shine, and long-lasting hold.” It has nearly opaque color coverage with some lingering translucency, but it covers very well and–more importantly–evenly. The texture isn’t too thick or too thin, and it feels lightweight on. It has a high gloss shine, and while not a gloss I’d describe as particularly sticky, there is some mild tackiness after an hour or two. Grenadine lasted five hours on me. It has a sweet, fruity scent–almost like a watermelon Sour Patch Kid, there’s a tanginess to it–but it’s a stronger scent. Β It’s lightly hydrating and comfortable to wear, but I did notice the texture of the sparkle after the gloss wore away–no traveling, though.

Wow. I kind of really love this color! Lisa Eldridge has put Clarins on my radar. It was always one of those brands that I thought was super boring but they have some really awesome products. I’ll have to grab this and Bobbi Brown’s Naked Plum for fall :))

ooooh this looks so beautiful on you Christine, I wish I was a lipgloss person, but I am def not. Actually I probably would be even more broke than I am now…so I take it back, I’m glad I’m not a lipgloss person πŸ™‚

This is right in the family of my favourite lip colours ATM. Love, love, love. Love that the sparkle doesn’t look super obvious, which tends to turn me off a lot of lip products.

Granadine looks gorgeous on you, Christine! I have two of these (Candy and… something else) waiting to be tested, but I still haven’t gotten around to it — the formula is gorgeous, but glitter always turns me off lip products. I wish Clarins had put a few cream finishes into this lineup!

Most of the have been discontinued, I’m afraid! πŸ™ Annabelle’s shimmer-free Le Glosses were wonderful, and I loved theBalm’s Boyz ‘n My Berry Plump Your Pucker — terrible name, but a wonderful product! PF’s pH Matchmaker gloss (Light Pink) has been one of my favourite products this year, as well — leaves a really lovely stain πŸ˜‰

I’d love to read more of yours reviews of Clarins products. I think they have really nice stuff. My last HG product is their Instant Light Complexion Perfector. It covers redness on my face better than MUFE primer (green one) and my skin looks amazing – even and radiant. I strongly recommend πŸ™‚

Such a perfect color for you! I’m surprised that I never knew Clarins does makeup. I only ever knew about their skincare, but this gloss looks fabulous.

I have the Rouge Prodige lipstick in Grenadine (very different from this gloss) and just love it. I also have the Gloss Prodige in Raspberry (quite similar to this gloss) and love it too, so maybe I should buy the Gloss in Grenadine as well.

Sounds like a lipgloss-formula I would actually consider wearing, I’m more a lipstick-girl because lipsticks are more opaque and not sticky, this however sounds interesting.
