Colourful prints on exotic skins have long been emblematic of Christian Louboutin’s work, whether in vibrant batik or faience porcelain-inspired designs.

For Spring 2015, Christian Louboutin introduces the Python Vulcano Limited Edition Nail Colour Coffret. Three new miniature limited edition colours are enclosed in a beautiful Python Vulcano print box, decorated with the same print as the Spring 2015 shoes and bag, incorporating blue and white paint splatters over shades of gray and cream. Louboutin was inspired by Jackson Pollock’s drip-technique paintings, and envisioned a brilliant effect of colours projected onto the surface. With these splashes of colour, the surface itself takes on a scaled effect of python skin.

A first for Christian Louboutin, this nail colour project coincides with a fashion collection. The marriage of fashion and beauty will continue over the coming seasons, as Louboutin’s shoe and bags collections will influence beauty as much as beauty will influence his approach to future designs.

Like the ceremonial flags of Italy’s Palio di Siena, the new nail colours come in three eye-catching hues:

• Salonu An opaque cement white similar to the shoe of the same name.
• True Blue Inspired by the Madonna song, this shade is a flattering periwinkle blue.
• Hot Chick A vivid yellow that evokes the seductive-yet-playful appeal of the Hot Chick shoe.
