Chanel Troublante (675) Le Vernis Nail Colour ($27.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is a fiery, pink-shimmered copper duochrome that shifts from bright coppery gold to richer, deeper red-bronze with a metallic shimmer. It was opaque in two coats, and the consistency wasn’t too thick or too thin, so I was able to apply it easily, but the fine and plentiful shimmer yielded some visible brush strokes. The shift was noticeable in an assortment of lighting conditions, and I regularly noted it throughout the day, not just at this one angle under this particular light. Chanel Singuliere (673) Le Vernis Nail Colour ($27.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is a slightly muted, medium-dark plum-berry with warm undertones and a cream finish. It had opaque pigmentation after two coats, and polish’s texture was neither too thick or too thin, so it covered evenly without streaking or pooling along the edges. It dried down to a high-shine finish. I typically get seven days with minor tip wear out of Chanel’s formula. Dior Graphic Berry (LE, $24.00) is lighter, cooler (95% similar).
