Everything’s Coming Up Roses

Chanel Rose Confidentiel (491) Le Vernis (Nail Lacquer) ($23.00 for 0.4 fl. oz.) is a soft, medium rose pink cream with a slightly glossy finish. It almost looks like a cross between a jelly and cream on me, because it has that squishy look to it–just subtly so. It’s pretty pigmented, and I found two coats to be the right amount to yield a rich, opaque look. The formula wasn’t too thick as some Chanel polishes can be, and it was applied smoothly and evenly.

The colour really reminds me of gums (as in teeth) which is sort of offputting. It doesn’t look as nice on the nail as in the bottle for me which is a shame. Not that I would ever pay Chanel prices for a boring pink creme!

Love it! I agree with you about it being a bit darker for fall without being dark. I have been looking for a nude/rose for fall- my vamps just felt too dark. Rose Confidential is perfect πŸ™‚

On a nail craze (because of you Christine :D) I went down to the Chanel counter and tried Rose Confidentiel, Jade Rose, Paradoxal and Rose Insolent. Bought Rose Confidentiel on the spot and spent the rest of the day staring at my single painted nail. I am so IN LOVE with this colour. Two days later I went back and bought Paradoxal (which REALLY impressed me, as I’m not a big fan of blue nail lacquers) and Jade Rose (for my sister). I just want to go back to the shop and buy 2 more Rose Confidentiel, because I want to wear this shade on my nails for forever. lol

I don’t like the colour, it wouldn’t go well with my skin-tone and sorta reminds me of a polish my grandmother would wear. On another note, I think they should just give in and make Chanel Jade a permanent colour. πŸ™‚

Meh. I had high hopes for this but it looks like something my auntie would wear. And considering she has a stash of ancient nail polish that’s not a good thing:)

Hi,
My dad bought me this one for christmas and as I painted it on my nails, if discovered it looks alot like an Herome polish I have. Try Berlin from the WIC collection. It is a perfect dupe!

I know that this question was given a long time ago, but maybe there are others that just have discovered Chanel Rose Confi. and someone who are still looking for dupes.
I found that Essie Mauve-ing Along and OPI Kreme de la Kremlin makes okay dupes… I think that both items are discontinued, but Ebay might be your friend here…

I have it and love it!! A nice rose colour for fall, I donΒ΄t like reds and dark nail polish that much but baby pink nails in fall look a bit weird so this is my perfect colour

I would love to get this polish–but the price tag makes me cringe! Especially seeing all the half-empty Chanel polish bottles in my cabinet from years past. Health magazine’s December issue (p. 32) recommends Rimmel London Lasting Finish Pro Nail Enamel in Pink Bliss for $4 as a sub . . . it looks a lot lighter, but I guess for $4 it might be worth a try!
