Chanel Abstraction Illusion d’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow ($36.00 for 0.14 oz.) is described as a “peach rose.” It looks very coral-pink in the pot, slightly pinker when swatched, but on my lid, it looked closer to the color you see in the pot–more coral-pink than anything else. Certainly warm-toned with coppery-gold and pink sparkle. MAC Love Spice is less pink. Urban Decay Free Love is much more coral and vibrant. MAC Quartz Fusion is redder.

It isn’t yet out, but it is part of the soon-to-be-released Les Expressions de Chanel collection.  When applied dry, it has sheerer payoff, such that it is a smattering sparkles and less metallic.  When applied damp, it has better pigmentation, though not quite opaque.  The color is buildable and after two or three layers, you’ll find mostly opaque coverage.   It’s not as smooth as the best Illusion d’Ombres, but it’s definitely not chunky or gritty or glittery.  It’s more shimmery, almost sparkly.  I wore it alone all over the lid, and it lasted for twelve hours without creasing or fading.  There was minimal, but noticeable, fall out–the kind that you notice but won’t look like a disco ball from across the room.
