We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Daiso puff and sponge detergent!! I get mine on eBay, it is AMAZING. Cleans a flat top kabuki in seconds. I recommend it so often that I should be on commission! Seriously it changed my brush-cleaning life. Holy Grail!

Dr. Bronners solid bar soap is my holy grail brush and BB sponge cleaner. It always gets all of the yuck out of my brushes and sponge, plus it never leaves any residue behind.

Dr. Bronner’s Castile Peppermint Soap. I use the liquid. Just the tiniest drop cleans and conditions my brushes to perfection. Quick rinsing and No residue at all.

Dr. Bronner’s liquid soap or Johnson’s baby shampoo.

I’ve seen rave reviews of the solid beauty blender cleanser though, I might pick up the Sephora 100pt mini for travel.

Oh Alice that’s a good idea! I’ll be going on vacation in April. I could use my points as well to get the mini to take with me 🙂

Johnson’s baby shampoo or Pur Minerals facial cleanser (it’s a green liquid that they don’t make any longer, which is a shame because it’s a great face wash, great body wash too and does a great job of cleaning brushes). Now and then I’ll use some Fruits and Passions Cuicina grapefruit liquid hand soap. It is also mild and has such a lovely scent.

Both my spot-cleaning & deep-cleansing products are DIY:

For spot-cleaning, I use a mixture of 1C distilled water, 1/2C isopropyl alcohol (91%), 1Tbsp each of leave-in conditioner & dish soap. Pour in a spray bottle. I also add a few drops of tea tree oil or eucalyptus oil for added antibacterial purposes.

For deep-cleansing, I use 1C warm water, 1Tbsp each of dish soap & distilled white vinegar. Swirl, then rinse-even gets old stains out, and the vinegar disinfects & works as a rinsing agent.

Dr Bronners is my favorite right now. But I work on the theory that if I would not use it on my hair or skin I would not use it on my brushes either.

I love the Beauty Blender solid cleanser and Philosophy Purity. Both are very gentle and leave my brushes squeaky clean and soft

Easily the beauty blender solid cleaner soap! Makes all my white haired brushes white again and this stuff lasts forever. No weird smells or residues and cleans so quickly! Lovee it! 🙂

I love DHC cleansing oil….just a drop takes off every trace of makeup from brushes and rinses off clean…Double duty from one product!

Since you mentioned Dr. Bronner’s, I bought a bottle of the baby mild liquid and it’s AMAZING. Never going back to specialty brush cleansers.

At work we use the philosophy purity made simple and it takes so much longer to get everything out. I want to be like…please get some dr. bronner’s.

I’ve recently tried Dr. Bronner’s magic liquid cleanser as well, and I found it to be amazing! MAC’s brush cleaner doesn’t even come closer. However, I did get the citrus-scented one, and while it smelled amazing while cleaning the brushes, the scent dried out kind of funky. So, when I re-purchase, I will get the scent-free version!

I actually like the sephora brand solid brush soap. I also like the Beauty blender liquid soap for the Beauty blender. I might try the dr. bronner solid for after the sephora runs out though just to check.
