I always see this as a smokey look maybe blended in with satin taup and carbon with a pop of color with something like shadowy lady or most likely beauty mark to rim the eye. I like the smokey brown look. It's more subtle than dark black smokey. I like using satin taupe all over the lid and using espresso on the outer v and on the bottom lash line.

I actually have two fave smokey eye looks. One is using kajal to line the eyes, followed by black eyeshadow smudged out & the either turquoise or purple on the outer circles to soften the look. For a night out, I would do pretty much the same but to add some bling, I would pat on teal & green or purple & blue glitter onto the middle of the lids over the black eye shadow.

Not so great on smokey eyes, but there is one look that I've practiced a few times that looks pretty good. Use a neutral base. Line lash line with Stila smudge pot in black and smudge Line above that with L'Oreal HIP cream liner in EggPlant and smudge upwards Blend Benefit cream shadow in Stiletto from the Eggplant over most of the lid and to the outer crease.

hi temptalia! my fav smokey eye is one that makes you look subtely alluring and dramatic, but still natural! my smokey eye consists of: MAC Pigment: Blue steel (beautiful deep blue + gold flecks)for the base colour on the lid & crease, then using MAC Eyeshadow: Henna (gorgeous goldy colour)on top of the Blue Steel on the crease, then using Afterglow Cosmetics: Fog (white, creamy colour) as the highlight colour right underneath the brow, then putting MAC Eyeshadow: Plumage (dark blue + teal colour)on the bottom lashline, then finishing off with some black sparkly eyeliner + mascara/fake lashes. easy- 6-8min in the morning and you're good to go- as well as looking absolutely gorgeous! i would love to be able to experiment with the new MAC: Smoke & Diamonds eyeshadow for another smokey eye look! xox lots of love, janni

I like my smokey eye to lean toward the warm side so I use dark browns and bronzes such as Satin Taupe, Concrete, Romp, and Twinks with Grain or Ricepaper for a matte highlight or Nylon for a shimmery highlight. Also I always use a darker paint base such as Constructivist or Quite Natural. :) Yeah for Smoke and Diamonds - need to smoke my eye with this color!!
