Well I haven’t used any black eyeshadow so far. I’m starting to experiment with make up. But a good black eyeshadow should at least be an intense dark black. Very well pigmented and not too much fall out (if it’s a pressed eyeshadow). And last but not least it should be easy to blend.

when i make my black eyeshadow i love the aqua black from make up forever as a ‘base’ and then putting mac’s carbon over it and then put mac’s blacktrack fluidliner so it gives it an even deeper smokey black look. i’ve recently tried mac’s cream color base and then the cinderfella mineralized eyeshadow from the style black collections for more of a shimmer smokey look.
My favorite black would probably have to be Mac’s carbon… I’m a big fan of Smut too, though i don’t if you could QUITE classify that as a black… almost!

MAC Carbon for setting liners! It takes the sharp edge out of liquid liners but still keeps the intensity.

I guess I don’t really have a favorite black shadow. What I tend to do is to take one of my cheap black eyeliners, the ones that smudge like crazy, and messily apply it like I would an eyeshadow, and smudge with a brush. With a base like Paintpots under it, it works pretty well!

It’d have to be Oil Slick by Urban Decay. Now, I don’t have any Mac blacks to compare with, but I really love this shadow.
It’s a deep, pigmented black, finely milled enough to go on smoothly, with a galaxy of silver sparkles shot through it. Mixed with water, it makes your eyelid light up like the night sky.
Looking forward to seeing how it compares with the legendary Mac blacks when I finally get some

My Favorite black shadow at the moment has to be Nars Night Breed, very dark black with chunks of silver glitter in it which glams up any look! it adds the touch of glitter that is smooth and not overbearing!
