Where do you apply your eyeliner?

Varies tremendously for me! Usually I like to do lower waterline at bare minimum, but sometimes I’ll opt for lower lashline over waterline. But I really switch it up a lot. My favorite look has all three areas lined – usually two colors that complement one another on the waterline and lower lashline, and the darker of the two colors on the upper lashline. But yeah…I do just about anything. I do the upper lashline less, just because I think it’s more important to get a crisp, precise line up there and I’m not super good at that. I pretty much just use gel or liquid on the upper, pencils only when I have minimal or no eyeshadow on. Today it’s shadow, lower lashline, and waterline.
I use eyeliner on my upper lashline, but tight lining is a must for me!
I feel you can go without lining the upper lashline and tight line for a more natural look, it also gives the illusion of thicker, volumious lashes.
I know most people are uncomfortable doing this, but I have come to find that if you look down and use gentle strokes on your tightline it will become easier but, I think it takes practice, like everything in makeup!
Everyone should try this step and I feel that my look is not complete unless I do this step! And in conjunction with false lashes, you can’t go wrong!

Creative question Christine. I line upper, lower, and waterline. I feel that all three places are needed to complete any look – from the most neutral to the smokey eye. How about you?
Just the lower, as my eyes get red and swollen whenever I do the upper lash line (though I do it on occasion for the blog looks since people request it) for the next few days.
upper lashes only, if i attempt lower lash and waterline it ends up smudging half way down my face within and hour or so, no matter what liner i use… not a good look
I love my Dior eyeliner, however I do feel as though I can only wear it on my upper lash line, if I attempt to do my waterline or lower lash line it ends up running no matter what! Any suggestions anybody?

I always have a problem with doing my waterline, it smudges in less than half an hour! My droopy Asian eyes can only handle upper lashline, sadly. Doing my lower lashline will only give me panda eyes!
BTW, is it normal to have sort of a “big” waterline or am I just being weird??
set it with a matte black eyeshadow (or whatever colour matches the eyeliner)
If you have sensitive eyes I dont recomend this and it might feel weird the first time but my eyes are ALWAYS watering and even if I cry this stays on the WHOLE time
Upper & 2/3 lower lash line. I know ppl look great doing their waterline, but I think it looks weird on me, and more important, I’m scared to do so XD

Every day, I use Wet n Wild’s gel liner to line my upper waterlines. In applying to my upper lashlines, I have to be really careful to draw just a very thin line because of the way my eyelids are (not very much of them can be seen anyway).
I only apply it on my lower lashline and waterline. I can’t line my upper lashline for some reason!
I apply it at the upper and lower lash line. I would love to apply it to the water line as well, if I would find a product which lasts there longer than a few minutes…
I tried the Urban Decay 24/7 (had them shipped, because you can´t buy them in germany) and i love them, but they don´t stick to the water line, unfortunately.

I do my upper lash line with a gel eyeliner – it’s sort of my signature look. Every once in a while I try to do the waterline but I think it makes my eyes look WAY smaller.
I line my upper lashline and lower 2/3 lash line. Don’t line the kohl since my eyes are small to begin with….unless its a white or fleshy tone.
Sometimes I just tightline and that’s it.
I line the upper lashline, concentrating thickness to the outer corner.
I line the lower waterline.
The lower lashline, however, I smudge a bit of color in the outer corner, and blend it inwards. So most of the time there’s only liner on the outer 1/3 of my lower lashline.
Depends on the look, but most of the time it’s a simple, thin, wing type on top.
Upper lashline (most of the time) & sometime I also add it to the upper & lower waterline. The only time I add eyeliner to my lower lashline is with “color” eyeliner like blues, purples, or greens for a pop of color.

Rarely do lower since they end up smudging. I am experimenting with lower lashline & waterline atm…we’ll see which works for me

I usually just use it on my lower waterline (pencil), but sometimes I’ll go for liquid eyeliner for the top lashline. Can’t do tightlining with pencil though.
Upper lashline. I have small eyes and if I line all the way around, my eyes look so little and squinty. I use Rich Ground fluidline (which almost exactly matches my hair color and looks natural) almost every day.
Please tell me, folks — how is it possible to wear liner in the waterline and not feel as though you’ve got gunk in your eyes??
upper lash line, upper WATER LINE!! it is so huge in Asia too apply eyeliner in the upper water line, and it DOES make a difference!
I have no preference as in ‘I HAVE to line my upper lash line otherwise I’ll just die on the spot!’ It depends on the look and my mood.
My eyes are small and close-set. I line the upper lash line, and only on the outer third of my eye. All eye makeup has to be way strategic so I don’t close my eyes off further.
I use a gel liner on the upper. I feel i have better control. The lower waterline area is where I use the pencil along with lower lash line.
It’s always different. Some days I just do upper lashline, sometimes just lower, sometimes both. Sometimes I line my waterline, sometimes I don’t. Depends on the look I’m going for.
i can only do my upper lash line, if i try tightlining or my waterline, i become a tearing freak alll day.

Although I technically don’t actually use an eyeliner on my upper lash line, because I have Asian monolids and I find that a matte black shadow (I use NYX’s black) with an angle brush gets between my lashes better and makes my eyelashes curling easier than using an eyeliner.
It depends on the look I’m doing. But on a day to day basis, I apply it on my lower lashline. But I don’t line it all the way; just the outer 2/3s. If I’m doing a full look or going out, I do the upper, lower & waterline.
I wear it on the upper lash line and the lower water line. I always end up wearing eyeshadow to line the bottom part of my eye.
I usually do upper lash line and then smudge shadow underneath the lower lashes for a softer look, sometimes will add a bit of pencil liner on the outer third of my lower lashes for added oomph. Very rarely do the waterline, but when I do it’s with a white, silver or flesh-toned colour (darker colours on the waterline make my eyes look smaller).
I use eyeliner on all parts of my eyes. I like to use several different colors at once.
I usually apply liner on my upper (tightlining) and lower waterline, depending on the chosen product. I’m not used to lining the upper lashline, but I’m trying to learn – and if I apply it to my lower lashline I only feel like a raccoon..
cream liner on the upper lashline, kajal liner on tightliner, and on occasion waterline- but only a third of the way in (it tends to close up my eye). Great question!
I usually use a silvery pencil on my bottom waterline and a black pencil on my top waterline to tightline. I might then use a liquid liner on my upper lashline but it depends!
This does vary, but I normally line my top lashline and my bottom waterline

I mix it up a bit. Usually I just apply it to my lower water line because, most of the time, I’m in a hurry. But lately I’ve been into applying a simple, not too intense, winged look on my upper lash line with MAC’s Fluidline, Blacktrack or Dipdown (both work great, of course!).
it totally depends on the look, but I really can’t do tightlining – I know it makes a difference but it so freaks me out!
Black/brown gel liner on the upper lash line and the outer-half of my lower lash line. White/peach liner on the waterline. Makes me look wide awake for work.
I used to only apply eyeliner on my lower water line – before I even knew that it was called that haha. Now I wear a thicker line on my top lash line, sometimes with liquid (loreal carbon black lineur intense), sometimes with pencil (urban decay 24/7). i use the pencil on my water line too. I don’t usually wear eyeliner on my lower lashline, but when i do i use a bright coloured one to match my eyeshadow.
I just started wearing eyeliner late last yr…I only apply on my upper lash line.
I usually only tightline as thats all the time I have in the morning! But if I have more time I usually smudge out my upper lashline aswell and add a pop of color on the lower lashline- but thats rare because I enjoy my extra 5 minutes of sleep XD

Upper and/or lower lash LINE. I find it soooo unhygienic and unsafe for the eye to apply it to the waterline. It can also end up looking so terrible at the end of the day if any of it has visibly migrated into the corner of your eyes or has mixed in with eye goo. I highly doubt that putting something on your waterline or close to it is very safe, since regardless of how waterproof the product claims to be, some product will seep into the eye and could potentially cause some major negative reactions.
I find that not wearing any on the waterline tends to look better on most people anyway – more professional, works better with most eye sizes/shapes, etc. My eyes look so much better when I emphasize the shadows on the lower outer lash line, makes my eyes look quite large.
Most of the time it’s upper/lower lash, but I like to mix it up and add the waterline sometimes too. It really depends on the look.
i like applying it on my upper lashline and to tightline with it. and sometimes i might add very little to my lower lashline. i dont like to line my lower waterline
