When I get home I swatch it or try it on myself, then try to find room to put it in my makeup area. I usually am excited so I remember what I buy so I try to use it when doing my next look.

Since I've started blogging, I'll generally take pictures of things before I use them. And then comes the swatches. It's so time consuming, I don't know how you do it! :)

open it and try it on, try different looks with it and everything I can do with it.. so, play with it =)

label it with the date, admire it and put it in one of my boxes of makeup to keep it safe and loved until the appropriate occasion

Like others, I wait a few days, then I record it in my makeup file(weird I know) and put it away.

When I'm looking to buy, I always go to the store with no makeup. By the time I leave, I'm wearing what I wind up buying. Then, I use all my new stuff later that night, when I make sure I'm going out :)

I usually don't use a new beauty product right away because I'm usually purchasing it before I've used up my own! It would probably have to be an unusual product, which for me would be say Urban Decay's Stardust e/s. I had to try that right away!

similar to others, lipsticks are usually tried out as soon as i get home...generally i try to use them in a look the next day. most of the time if they're products from a new collection, i wear them pretty much every day till i get tired of them, or i find something new.

for some reason i cannot use it right away, (just a swatch, though). i dont know why, same thing goes with clothes, too. it takes a few days for me to realize that its got to be broken in eventually. is that weird? lol.

omg i love new stuff, so i take forever to open it, read the entire box it came in, then whatever came inside of the box (instructions or w/e) and Then I open it and swatch it and smile because its so pretty :) lol i'm a dork, but yeah its cool the anticipation of getting it home to open it!

I take it out of the box, look at it, put it back in the box, get home, then take it out of the box again, admire it, put it on, admire how it looks, and admire the product again. I'm silly. :P

i make sure that i really want it then i use it. x)

I might sound really odd, but I hardly ever test or use a beauty product straight after buying it, partly because I always wear make up, so it wouldn't work and partly because I don't want to, lol. I just prefer to keep things untouched for a while. Like I said, weird, lol.

I stare at it all day::LOL

I can't stand not using it! I go home, swatch it first on my arm, then put on right away! Its almost always eyeshadow or eyeliner, because I already have blush, powder, and lipstick I have been stuck on for years.

This is pretty embarrasing. I...fondle it. XD I hold it in my hands, open and close it repeatedly, and smile to myself.

I usually take it out of the package and look at it and then immediately start planning on what look I will pair it with the next day!!

Admire it. I then swatch and compare to similar colors, sometimes I try to find colors that go well with it for a look. Then it goes into the database. And then I start using it for real.

try it on and find a home for it! though finding homes for new things is getting hard when the collection grows too big!

Well honestly I actually have buyer's remorse for about an hour. LOL. After that I might play around with and figure out what kind of looks I can create with it.

I will take pix of them all before swatching or playing with them! Then edit them....

I'll open the casing and smell it. I dunno, it's just a habit of mine..

I put my fingers in it! Then cuss, that I forgot to take a picture of it first...again.

I swatch it .. then tell my friends what i think about it

If it's a lip product and matches my look that day I put it right on. If not I quickly plan what I will wear with it the following day. Then my daughter will say "mom you bought another beauty product" then the guilt kicks in a little but I quickly justify my needed purchase. And the hubby will back me up cause you have to keep the wifey happy.

I try to take several pictures of it brand new before I test it out!

Put it on in my car :).... and uh wear it haha!

I stare at it in the package because it looks so perfect..then i slowly take it out and stare at it more..after about 20 minutes of this (well 20 minutes is an exaggeration. maybe 5!) I'll open it up and swatch it on my hand and then apply it, no matter what makeup I'm wearing that day. Sometimes this helps because you never know what combinations work well unless you try them!

Use it! LOL! Unless I don't need to use it right away, then I swatch it and (hopefully) admire it's pretty-ness... Then I put it away to wherever it's supposed to go :)

squeal over it, then take it for a test run to see if i should get another for my kit! and use it obsessively until i get something new, haha

I smell and I swatch it! Only after swatching I feel something new as really mine %-)And the day after I put it on!

I usually leave new things alone and in the bag for the first day or 2!! I either forget about it or am too preoccupied with other makeup. Then, I bust them out a day or 2 later and re-fall in love with it. But the first thing I really do.. is probably swatch and take pictures for my good ol' blog.

I try to take product photographs in sunlight before I swatch/wear, but that doesn't always happen. heehee.

I remove it from any cardboard packaging. its not "mine" until then. Almost always, I swatch it on my hand until I can get home to really brainstorm how to use it.

Take pictures of it for my blog - unopened. LOL I don't open it until I've used something else up!
