What we're Wearing

My favorite look this week was… I used Illamasqua’s Neutral Palette — Vintage all over the lid with Wolf in the crease. I was going to use Stealth to highlight, but it was SO stark against my skin tone, so I ended up going over it with Burberry Trench. I used MAC Beth Mask on the lower lash line.

    Illamasqua Vintage is amazing!

My favorite look this week was a neutral plum eye with MAC Sable all over lid (over smudged aubergine liner) with MAC Twinks in the crease, MAC Matchmaster foundation + strobe cream all over face with MAC Fleur Power of apples of the cheeks and MAC Scandelicious on the lips!

  2. Gorgeous look! I absolutely love the Illamasqua Neutral Palette, I use it all the time, and Burberry Trench is one of my favorite highlight shades too :)

I did a really simple, summery look this week that I just loved – the lips and cheeks were my favorite. Lips were the Revlon Balm Stains in Rendezvous and Romantic (blended), and the cheeks were La Femme Peach blush.  The eyes were fine, but nothing special – NYX peach bronze on the lid and Burberry trench to blend out and highlight. I’m still obsessed with my SP heartbreaker palette and wearing it most days…but I also did a softer gunmetal and gold smoky eye using the Naked palette that I really liked. It was an accident, too, was just touching up my makeup at work, kept adding colors and liked how it turned out.
Eyes- UDPP, UD naked washed from lashline to browbone, UD buck in crease, UD Gunmetal blended very softly into crease. Black liner top/bottom lashlines and inner rims, set with SP Bulletproof. UD Creep on the outer v and blended slightly over liner. UD Virgin under browbone/inner corner. A dab of UD Half Baked patted on the middle of my lid, mascara, brows, and done.
Lips- a shimmery nude covergirl wetslicks gloss

That combo looks so beautiful against your eyes.  It makes them look olive green!

  5. army_wife_in_alaska

MAC Woodwinked on the lid with Soft Brown on the crease and Naked lunch on the inner corner and brow bone. I used Clinique gel liner in black (glides like a dream!). Revlon Lip butter in Peach Parfait completes the look.

This week I got Hourglass Gypsy and have been loving it!
I use my usual tinted moisturizer, Hervana blush and added in Nude on Board bronzer.
I used the lighter shade in Gypsy on my lid and the darker shade in the outer corner and crease. Shroom to highlight my brow. Then, depending on my mood, Bourbon or Feline as liner. Feline only on top or Bourbon all around my eyes.

  7. Super glad you shared this look, Christine as I have this palette from Illamasqua on the way and now I’m excited.  This eye look is very complimentary for ‘our’ eye colour!  No major interesting look to share this week other than using Guerlain Rue de Passy palette neutrals and bumping up the crease and lower lash line a notch or two with Illamasqua inception.  Nars Sin on cheeks.  Guerlain G Galia lipstick. C’est Tout~

@wwendalynne I’ve had my eye on this palette for a while; I’m still on the fence, but I’m seriously teetering (on the side oh getting it). Of course, seeing this phot makes me *really* want it.

      •  @xamyx  I was teetering for awhile too and I succumbed 2 days ago when Illamasqua released their Naked Strangers collection.  I was there on the UK website to grab the new powder blush in Naked Rose which was on my hit list and then for some reason I decided to buy the palette.  You would think I would have enough ‘neutrals’ to sink a ship, but then I looked at the model and despite her look being over the top for artistic and promotion sake, I thought the colours together were an interesting strong neutral instead of insipid neutral.  When I saw Christine’s version today in a much more toned down and subtle application, I was clapping my hands with glee.  I think it’s going to be a winner, I really do!!  The colour vintage..hell yes! :)

  8. Oh my gosh, I love this! It’s very “you,” with the antique gold lid & warm brown contouring ;o)

  9. I wore NYX Platinum Pink/Salmon/Jazzy Bronze Trio, with Sally Girl Dark Pink Baked MIni e/s on top, and Stila Pigalle in the outer v. I used my beloved MAC Dark Diversion on the upper and lower lashlines.

  10. I’ve been wearing the exact same look on the weekends lately! I use Stealth as a highlight because it is quite close to my skin tone. I keep vintage to my lid only and don’t blend it much to the crease and it looks so pretty and neutral! I’ve been using Essence London Baby (a cool dark brown) to line the upper lid, and taking vintage halfway across the eye on the bottom as well, it looks great. :)

THAT is what the Neutral Palette looks like on you??! Wow. Wow! I would seriously never have imagined it from just looking at the colours in the pan. It doesn’t look particularly special at all in the pan but, on your eye, it’s utterly lovely. With only a few exceptions, I don’t generally gravitate towards browns and neutrals but that Vintage has such depth….. hmm. I bet it would go really well with that matte MUFE brown you recently posted. (Of course, I need more eyeshadows like I need a hole in the head, esp. after the Shady Lady trios — *if* they ever arrive, that is).

Favourite look and one I got a lot of compliments/comments on, (including, surprisingly, the pimply teenage checkout boy at Randall’s):  Lancome shimmering khaki all over, NARS Night Porter in the crease and blended, Laura Mercier Metallic Creme in Gold (more an antique gold) near the tear duct, top/bottom outer 1/3 eyeline, UD’s Juju above the crease, UD’s Perversion & then black mascara.  NARS Luster as a highlighter blush. Bobby Brown Essentials lipstick in Nude.

    •  @Kafka Total knockout look, huh?  I love this too!!  I passed on the Shady Lady trios because of shipping issues, but then I turned around and bought this.  Yay!  Oh, and I’m being a bad girl this weekend because I am also picking up a palette from the UK from Sleek cosmetics..the one with the matte shadows.  Christine had a post about it a number of weeks back.  Anyhow, I caught the most beautiful woman on a youtube tutorial do an amazing smokey eye with this palette and I had to have it.  Trouble is, the UK website will not ship the palette to Canada or USA, but I found the sucker on eBay for less than $20 buckeroonies so it will be on it’s way as well.  Woot Woot!    Thanks for the tip with Night Porter..  I haven’t worn that one in awhile and I bet it looks fab paired with khaki!!!  I have a MUFE matte khaki that I love…  That will be tomorrow’s look when we go to pick up our plants/seeds for this years garden..very earthy :)

@wwendalynne I remember that Sleek palette and it was lovely! Yay for finding it on eBay, let alone for less than $20!!! (You know my passion for a good bargain. LOL.) You’ll have to let me know what it’s like when it arrives. I wish my Shady Lady stuff would arrive sometime soon. I heard the shipping was delayed until early June but we *are* early June, so it bloody well have gone out by now!  As for Night Porter, definitely try it with a khaki and then throw in some gold. Blended out with that, it becomes a 3rd, equally gorgeous colour. And when applied wet to the creases, the whole thing becomes really pretty. Even my mailman seemed transfixed by the whole look. LOL! Though UD’s Loaded may be my favorite dark green, I find Night Porter is a *lot* more versatile or practical for diff. looks.

Used various colors from the Urban decay palette with the butterflies (I cannot think of the name), anyway I created a bold eye each day and relied on my revlon LB in brown sugar and peach parfait as a nude lip!

I wanted something to wear “around” the Radium liquid UD liner I bought earlier in the week.  So, I went with Skin79 Hot Pink BB cream, this Elf bronzer compact using a medium and light tones to contour, UD Greed for primer, UD Crystal all over the lid, the dark gray/gunmetal from the UD Anniversary palette (I think this is the first time I’ve used this, otherwise I’d know the name) in my outer crease and outer v, Radium liner on the upper lashline, and mascara.  I threw on UD lipstick in Wanted in the car, I wasn’t that invested on the lips portion of the look, haha.

I just love that Crystal eyeshadow.  I can’t believe it’s not part of the permanent UD line with that huge overhaul they did.

I focused on the nails this week ! I tried ” To buy or not to buy ” from Essie ( on the whole disappointed ), then ” Koliary ” from Nars ( waouh ), ” April ” and ” May ” from Chanel.
On the face ? Well I used ” Lyon ” from Cargo a very pretty blush, ” Rosy Glow ” from Dior and ” Espiègle ” from Chanel combined with ” Chintz” Rouge Coco.

Gorgeous look, Christine!  It really sets off your eyes.

Tbh I haven’t been wearing much makeup this week.  I’ve been playing around with foundations over my newest sunscreen because it’s making them look a little strange.  As far as color cosmetics, I’ve mostly been using MAC’s Immortal Flower blush or Milani’s new highlight powder in Amber Nectar.  Amber Nectar is a bit too sparkly for me though.  I feel like I need to bust out MAC’s Hibiscus lipstick from last year and some of the Milani Haute Flash glosses.  It’s definitely summertime now.

As our soccer team was playing this weekend (Holland) I played around with some corals and oranges.
I kept my eyes pretty classic with coral shadow, black winged eyeliner, defined brows and on my lips I wore Clinique l/s in ‘Orange Burst’. I painted my nails with Coral Crush by Rimmel and finished them with a coat of gold flecks (can’t remember the name) by Essence.

  20. wow one of my favourite looks you’ve done, it reminds me of megan fox in her new shoot
