What we're Wearing

What We’re Wearing, Vol. 014

For me, it was the MAC Surf Baby look I threw on to test out products a few days ago–it was a surprising combination, because while it seemed like it should work, I wasn’t sure, but I liked how it came out in the end.

What was your favorite look you wore this week?

  1. I really only wore one look this week, to go to my final exam, so I guess it’s my favorite by default!

    Korres Vitamin E Face Primer
Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse foundation in Light 2, classic ivory
Lorac Baked Matte Satin Blush in Velvet Rope

    Smashbox Photofinish Lid Primer
M.A.C. Paint Pot in Bare Study all over the lid
M.A.C. Eyeshadow in Vainglorious on the outer half of the lid
NARS Eyeshadow in Galapagos at the outer corner and in the crease
Sephora Eyeshadow in Aspen Summit as a highlight
Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Rockstar
Bare Essentials Buxom Lash Mascara in black

    Benefit lipstick in Jing-a-ling

  2. Mine was a really dark eye I did using MAC’s French Quarter as a base. Definitely bolder than anything I have done before. Maybe next time I’ll be brave enough to wear it in public, haha.

  3. Sandra

My favorite look I wore this week was brown kohl eyeliner and mascara. It was so quick and gave me the same effect I get using gel eyeliner – minus the brush!

  4. eyes: mac vex on lid, copperplate in crease, blackberry in outer v
+ blacktrack + estee lauder sumptuous extreme mascara

    cheeks: mac blushbaby

lips: mac speed dial or up the amp

I was messing around with my Sodashop palette and broke down and bought the Kat Von D Truth palette( I cannot bear anything associated with her)and have been stuck in a weird rut of like “jamais vous” when it come to eye m/u. I’ve een staring at both palettes unable to figure out how to put colors together on my mongoloid lids. Don’t get me wrong I’m very proud of my heritage, but when Genghis ripped through the steppes of Russia he left behind my folded lids that defy my efforts to create a sultry eye…

I was just reading through these for inspiration and I seriously laughed out loud at your post…well written and gave me my first laugh of a very long day :)

Aww pleased I could help! I often raise my fist at historical events in the distant past and assign blame for whatever is *really*irritating me at the moment. Like my Ukranian peasant plowhorse hips. The culture I am part of has no aesthetic use for them so I have returned to the earth to get some serious use out of my genetic inheritance. AKA I planted potatos yesterday :)

This week, my only look was my regular foundation & powder, MAC woodwinked all over the eye, and Nars Baroque Velvet Gloss Pencil (during the night)/ MAC Ever Hip (in the morning) on my lips. Pretty simple! :]

  10. Mabeline

My favorite look is what I wore today actually.

    MAC concealer
    MAC bronze powder
Korres lipstick #13 natural pink as a cream blush

    MAC Paintpot in Painterly
MAC bronzer powder + NARS Dogon shadow duo for a smoky “green” eye
(*I used MAC smolder sheered out as a base, then layered the dark shade over it, with the taupe shade over that to create the prettiest green and I used some of my bronze powder into the crease. I used some face powder as a brow highlight.)
MAC smolder pencil and Covergirl Lashblast mascara
Anastasia brow pencil to even out brows

    Korres lipstick #13 natural pink

My favorite Eye Makeup Look this week is from an Adele Inspired tutorial from YT Guru – NikkiTutorials!
It’s Expensive Pink on the lid, Cork in the crease, with Sable over that for some shimmer, & Shroom for highlight. Maybelline Eyestudio Black Gel Liner on upper lash line & Benefit’s Busy Signal in waterline/lower lash line. On my lips I’ve been loving Ever Hip, can’t believe I passed on this during Liberty of London – It’s the most gorgeous coral that every gal needs!

  13. Nicole

I loved my quick makeup today:
    Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua
    Nars Multiple Tint in Cadaques
    Dior Lip Glow

It took two minutes! No brushes, no mascara. I always leave the house with a full face of makeup, it felt kinda nice to keep it REALLY simple.

  14. Queentut

MUFE Hi-def foundation,Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer,Laura Geller “The Real Deal” concealer, Urban Decay Rollergirl palette with UD 24/7 eyeliner in Whiskey, The Nalm “Cabana Boy” blush, LORAC warm glow bronzer, Benefit “Bad Gal” waterproof mascara, BE Mineral Veil, UD 24/7 lipliner in Naked, MUFE lipstick and Smashbox gloss. Yes it takes me 30 full minutes to do my face every day…but I love and live for it!

  15. Mariella

I’ve been trying to use up my Too Faced Amazing Face powder foundation just to get it out of my makeup cabinet. I’m suddenly finding it’s not all that bad – I’ve been using it all this week, with Plum Foolery blush (something else I’m trying to use up – that Hark the Heraldry blush set from MAC but I’ll probably be 100 years old before I make my way through all 3 products!). On my eyes, I really liked Joe Fresh Bronze eyeshadow – it gives a very nice effect, and black or brown pencil liner. And Laugh a Lot on my lips (like always).

  16. Maya

    Face: NARS Deep Throat Blush
Eyes: Chanel Mystic Eyes quad (which I LOVE but haven’t used in ages!) – silver grey on the inner corner and first third of my lid, lighter brown on the rest of the eyelid and in the crease, dark brown in the outer V, with Revlon liquid eyeliner and Diorshow and Diorshow Blackout on my lashes (got them in a set at Sephora and they’re ok, still like YSL and Chanel better)
Lips: MAC Angel with Chanel Aurore Glossimer on top!

  17. wendyh

eyes to kill #6 all over the lid
eyes to kill #2 outer coner + crease
    chanel liquid black eye liner
YSL black eye pencil + su umura white bright pencil at waterline

burberry bronzer #4 + Mac coppertone

  18. Noga

Mine is a soft smokey eye I wore for a wedding on Friday noon – all Mac unless stated differently:

Body and Face foundation (first time use!)
    Two faced shadow insurance
Cumulus on the inner part of the lower lid
Black Tide blended into the lower part of the lid and outer V
Pink Power – the highlighter part under the brow
Clinique High Impact mascara (which is really not that high impact, but I love using it when I want a subtle effect)
    Marquise D’ on the lips
    Pink Power blusher part

  19. angie

Lancome’s teint miracle foundation, benefit’s high beam under the eyebrows, cheeks and nose, l’oreal carbon gloss super liner and million lashes mascara, laura mercier’s blush in lotus pink and mac lipglass in nymphette. :)

  20. Hannah

I took inspiration from your Surf Baby look, Christine, but I wanted more definition, so I used a cherry colour in the crease and blended it up to make and orage colour inbetween the yellow and cherry, then I used a darker blue in the outer v and hence made a slightly purple colour.
In the end it almost turned out like a rainbow look…but it was cool 😉

Lid – Barry M aqua gold dazzle dust
Outer lid and v – Barry M denim fine glitter dust
Crease – Barrk M cherry red
    Above crease – sugarpill buttercupcake
