  1. Jennifer Lopez’s look in her “Follow the Leader” music video! Got the names of the most important products from her make up artist via Twitter and tried a version on myself. Got approval even from her and will be sporting it at J.Lo’s show next month!
    So excited!!!

Actually, it was your wedding makeup. I loved the colours, so I did an orange eye today!

The Biba makeup style and my trip to the winery inspired my FOTD yesterday & today

  4. We had a Christmas event at work this weekend (I know, so early!) so I wore Christmas colors in my makeup both days!

A Thanksgiving get-away. We are away now (left Saturday morning and won’t be getting back til Thursday) and we’re in Montreal, which has such a European flare. So I took some of my favourite eyeshadows and a lot of products I often don’t have time to use on a daily basis and which aren’t really work-a-day looks. I’m having quite a bit of fun with it all – the combination of fall and being away on a mini-holiday has meant brighter lips, smokier eyes, etc. (and a trip to the Inglot store didn’t go amiss either)

If I’m not wearing neutrals, then I usually pull inspiration from my jewelry. Since I typically wear all black, I rely on accessories for color, and I’ll tie in my shadow colors to the stones. I’ll also pull inspiration from the style of jewelry; if I’m wearing a vintage-style piece, I’ll try to do an appropriate period style look.

Of course, there are days I just pull out a palette (especially one I haven’t used for a while), and just pick out random shades, like I did last week for my daughter’s back-to-school night. I just grabbed my LORAC Holiday palette from 2010, and picked out some random shadows & a blush. It was my first time using it…

I was looking at the fall leaf colors this weekend – gold, orange, wine, brown – and I thought it would make a lovely eye look!

In day to day life, I just toss on whatever, but when I want a “look” it comes from costumes or a character I’m playing.

In day to day I base looks on whatever I’ve tossed in my travel makeup bag. Today it was Burberry Cameo blush, so I went for a look using that (it came out really well). I don’t normally do looks based off ideas or other people, because I’m just that boring, but I usually pick one piece I want to use, blush or lipstick or gloss, and go based on that. I want to start playing with eye shadow more, though, because I love the way other people can do it, but I’m all thumbs.

  12. There was this gorgeous gorgeous look on Beautylish that really inspired me recently. I’d post it but I already raved about it to the person who created it, so I think I’d probably start bordering on looking like a stalker haha

Fall colors are so not boring Christine! From mid-September until Oct 1st I wore makeup looks using wonderful fall colors. Since Oct 1 I’ve worn different ‘Pink’ themed looks to commemorate BCA month. I will continue this until Nov 1. I just hope my creativity lasts that long. :)
