Urban Decay Summer 2011 Palette

Urban Decay Rollergirl Summer 2011 Palette

Urban Decay Rollergirl Eyeshadow Palette ($32.00) contains four eyeshadows, minature lipgloss, and miniature eyeliner. These include: Woodstock (bright pink with sligh shimmer), Verve (pearly oyster), Suspect (oyster with dimensional shift), Darkhorse (bronze patina), Crush (bright hot pink), and Whiskey (dark brown). Each eyeshadow contains 0.04 oz., while the lipgloss contains 0.12 fl. oz and the eyeliner is 0.03 oz. The palette contains $54.40 worth of eyeshadow, $6.70 worth of lipgloss, and $12.75 worth of eyeliner. The total value of the palette is $73.85.

  • Woodstock is a dark fuchsia pink with a soft frost finish. Very pigmented, super smooth. This is permanently available.
  • Verve is a pale, muted taupe brown–like a lighter Mushroom. This is an exclusive shade to this palette.
  • Suspect is a muted champagne bronze with a frost finish. This shade was in the Book of Shadows, Vol. III.
  • Darkhorse is a dark, sultry bronze shimmered brown. This shade was in the Naked and Feminine palettes.
  • Crush is a semi-sheer magenta pink. It’s almost like magenta met bubblegum pink, and then they had a lovechild. This is permanently available. For a full review of the formula, please see my original review.
  • Whiskey is a medium-dark, warm-toned brown. This shade was originally available with the Naked palette and is currently available as part of an eyeliner duo (with Flipside).

It is similar to last summer’s palette release called Summer of Love, which was in the same format, but instead of a lip gloss, had a miniature-sized primer. It retailed for $29, so I expect pricing to be around there. As soon as I have pricing/availability information, I’ll be sure to update this post!

The Glossover

Urban Decay Rollergirl Summer 2011 Eyeshadow Palette

Urban Decay always puts out really pretty palettes, from the color selection to the way they do the packaging. The palette has repeats as many of Urban Decay’s palettes often do, which is definitely a drawback for long-time fans. For those new to the brand, it’s a nice neutral palette with a hot pink kick. If you’re just into neutrals though, you may want to consider the Naked palette if you have $48 to spend.

This looks absolutley gorgeous! I LOVE the packaging and the eyeliner and the lipgloss (I have never had an urban decay lip gloss because they look like juicy tubes which i do not like) But the color looks great and pigmented! I love the colors and how there’s a beautiful pop of color, but i do have the naked palette, but that means that i only already have 1 color from this palette (darkhorse). So i was planning on buying it with my allowance this month, but i just realized i asked for the Book of shadows Vol III for my birthday and comes with suspect (another shadow in this palette). So now i am contemplating if i should get it for verve and woodstock or just leave it. Ugh!!! Decisions are tough.

I wish they would mix it up a little bit and stop putting the same colors in the palletes… pretty tough to buckle down and buy a pallete when u already own half of it!

  3. DarkGlamour17

Miss Christine do you know when in April this palette will be available? I’m getting super anxious to get it! :) Thanks for all the work you do!

  4. Verve is gorgeous!!

  5. Courtney

can’t wait to buy this! all three of those colors are gorgeous! & the look you did was amazing

  6. Kali

Hmm…this is cute…but I can’t see getting it just for Verve. I have a dupe for Woodstock and I have Suspect and Darkhorse already…

Ok, I love the packaging. I have the Naked Palette and therefore, Dark Horse plus the 24/7 liner Whiskey. However, I don’t own the other shadows. Really love that UD incorporated a mini lip gloss with this instead of yet another primer potion. The redundancy is bordering on the ridiculous though.

ya know. i do love this palette but i also have naked palette. i think you could create similar looks except with woodstock which you say is permanent so if i really wanted to create the look you did i could similarly

  9. I gotta have that pink! … Glad I didn’t get the Naked or Feminine palette 😉

  10. Debbie

I LOVE combining woodstock with some of these colors, fantastic mix for the naked pallet.

  11. Quinn

I think I will be picking this up! I do have BOS3 but 1/4 isn’t bad in my opinion, love the UD summer palettes!

  12. Olivia

I love it, although I don’t know how I’d use Woodstock. Maybe if I get it before May I’ll incorporate it into my prom makeup.

  13. Annie

hey christine….i am aware that this palette is limited edition….but do you know when it will be discontinued again???

  14. Stacey K

hey christine! so i was looking back at some of the palettes i have from urban decay and noticed that the colors from the summer of love palette (minus flash obviously) seem very similar to the ones in the rollergirl palette. i live in alaska and we don’t have a sephora up here so i can’t go to a store to see it in person or anything and was wondering if you might be able to do a comparison? Thanx!

  15. corinna

the one palette i buy from UD is the summer palette =) i’ve been collection them

  16. Dominique

Im so excited to see a WOC on this palette. Hot pink is an amazing color for darker skintones. I want it for that reason alone. I would love to see Urban Decay do more palettes with different ethnicities. Maybe a bollywood themed palette with jewel tones or something equally as exciting.

  17. kai

    I loveeee this palette, but
would the whiskey eyeliner even show up on a person w/ a deep dark skintone?
and it seems a wee bit expensive.

  18. Queentut

PLEASE do a tutorial on this. I love it and need some pointers!

  19. Queentut

I purchased this on Saturday and to my surprise was able to duplicate the look you featured previously (adding in the Woodstock for a pop of color mid lid). I love it! I received so many compliments yesterday on my look. I will be wearing this a LOT. Thanks for the step by step breakdown on application. Keep em coming!

  20. Sarah

Wow! The packaging is awesome! I own every color except for “Woodstock,” but I just purchased this online. This is a must-have!

  21. yamille

Duoe alert, Verve, stila clouD!!! could u help me cristina??
i do love that color, but in Mexico never arrives this pallete :( and i do want that color so bad!

  22. MandyJanssen
