Five Shimmery Shades from Urban Decay
Now, part two of new Urban Decay Lip Junkie Lip Gloss ($19.00 for oz.)! This post features the shades: Midnight CowboyNaked (pink nude with pink shift), Runaway (shimmering deep coral), Jilted (hot pink with blue shift), and Perversion (sheer sparkling obsidian). (shimmering beige),
- Midnight Cowboy is a sheer, pale champagne-shimmered gloss. It really has no color, but it adds some shimmer to lips.
- Naked is a lightened peach-pink base with nearly iridescent pink micro-shimmer. The shimmer in this gloss felt smaller than Midnight Cowboy, and it has more of a reflective quality to it. This seems to be a your-lips-but-better kind of gloss–not a ton of color, some shimmer.
- Runaway is a semi-sheer, light coral with white shimmer. The shimmer here is average in size and like Midnight Cowboy’s. This one delivered more color on lips as well.
- Jilted is a semi-sheer fuchsia-pink with iridescent fuchsia-purple shimmer and a very glossy finish. It’s like a jelly pink base with pretty shimmer in it. It added more pink to my lips, but it’s a very wearable shade–don’t let the tube fool you.
- Perversion is a blackened plum with almost silver shimmer. Like most dark glosses, it does settle into lip lines and may bleed on those who find themselves prone to bleeding lip color (I didn’t experience it myself). The color is semi-opaque, but it’s not an opaque black gloss at all, so never fear the way a product looks in the tube–at least not until you swatch it. Oh, and this will make your teeth look a little yellow.

RECOMMENDATION: This is a solid gloss, but I don’t think it’s necessarily groundbreaking, you know? It’s another good lip gloss that’s non-sticky, smells nice (much better than the creme brulee scent typical to Urban Decay lip products), and feels lovely on the lips.

Thanks for putting up all of these pictures and reviews. It was so helpful when deciding which one to get. I decided on Naked, which I love! Very good fall color for fair-skinned women!
Thanks for the review. I was so excited because the packaging was so cute and the colors looked promising, but they seem too sheer... I might have to try Runaway once it's in stores and see how it goes.
Some of these colors remind me of my Hard Candy glosses. I think I'll pass but I really do love Jilted & Naked. :)
Omg Naked is SO pretty! I want that unleast it plumps the lips permanently. I want Runaway and Jilted too <3
Meh. I was pretty excited for these till you mentioned their mintyness. I know that people have a love or hate for the Pocket Rockets' "creme brulee" scent, but I really love it. It smells like pancake syrup to me, haha. So I think I'll stick with those.
I think I like some of these! I definitely don't need more lipgloss, but I'd consider these. I don't really want to walk around with naked man lipgloss in my purse, so I'm loving these already!
Wow! The black looks surprisingly wearable!!! I really wanted to see it swatched the most, and on you, it looks good! I like it! I want to see what it'll do to other lipsticks!
It's great over other lipsticks to make them vampier, which I'm totally sure you knew!

Nahhhh! I was like, OH no! The vampy lip can be so sexy, but I never love it on me!
I'm excited that UD is coming out with minty glosses. I didn't even realize that they were aiming for "Creme Brulée" until recently - to me their glosses have always smelled and tasted exactly like Buttered Popcorn Jelly Bellies (yuck). Wish they were a little more opaque, but I might have to pick up a couple of them anyway :)
I kinda expected Naked to have more color, but it honestly doesn't look like you even have it on. I think I might go with one of the less shimmery ones from your other review.
Christine.. a while back you did a vampy red lip look with a black ysl gloss. Would Perversion would as well?
It could definitely help darken a red lip, but it's not quite as pigmented, plus it has shimmer, but yes!
So there's no awful smell or flavor? Oh no, I might have to break my boycott of UD and get Perversion...
They smell/taste nothing like the Pocket Rocket glosses or the lipsticks -- definitely a very minty scent, but the taste just seems sweet to me. Not a bad sweet, but I couldn't distinguish it as anything in particular.
Oh I'm sad Midnight Cowboy isn't very pigmented. Thanks for the swatches though! You know, I started wanting swatches for these like a few hours ago and then you posted them!! So weird. My wait was shorter than a wait in the doctor's office. Thanks!

i loved the runaway swatch but once i saw it on your lips............. i was expecting more from it, imagine how beautiful it would be if it was opaque.
I love UD's lipstick but I'm still waiting to be wowed by their gloss. I know someday they'll do it, but not this time.
Damn..i almost got excited seeing Jilted as a gloss..because it's my favourite lipstick EVER. But..another let down. PASS on all of them. =[
Maybe prettier layered *over* Jilted the lipstick?!
